  This is a great place to get your hair cut. You will leave looking like a supermodel, and for only forty to fifty bucks a cut. Katy is quite possibly the best stylist ever. The place needs a bit of an updated look. The contrasting lime and dark purple paint look like a tween's bedroom. And I'm not crazy about Pravana products. But it's really no reason to miss this place if reliable, quality hair service is important to you.

  Never going back to my old Stylist again. Heather was completely professional, as well as patient and understanding. I explained that I wanted more body in my curls, but that I was also trying to grow them out. She listened and made sure that I was comfortable with the steps we were going to take to get my hair going in the right direction. My cut is fabulous! I will never, EVER go back to anyone but Heather.

  AMAZING! If you live anywhere in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex and have curly hair of any kind...do yourself a favor and go see Heather! I have searched forever to find someone who can make my hair look as amazing as I feel, and My curls are still long, but they have body for days. They look exactly how they are supposed to look - all curly - and Heather is the reason why. For the first time in forever, I adore my hair. I’ll never go to anyone else. I’m a fan of Heather’s for life. She truly found my hair’s happy place. I also loved seeing the Curly Girl book in the salon. It made me feel right at home.

  Salon Purple also does a great job with men's curly hair. Terry, the owner, has always taken his time to do a great job cutting my hair. I typically have bad experiences with hair stylists, but thus far I have had only excellent experiences at Salon Purple. Highly recommended.

  I went to Salon Purple for the first time on 10/30/10 and Kristi was my stylist. I have not ever had my hair cut so well! Kristi took her time with my hair and she did such a great job with it, I had a great hair cutting experience. It had been over two years since I had last cut my hair just because I was afraid of what the outcome would be like. Not anymore with Kristi! Thank you so much for taking the time and listening and giving me a great cut! I will certainly be back! I left the salon with such great curly hair, I love the way that Kristi took the time to hand curl each curl! Thank you Kristi!

  I am new to the area and reading the reviews on this site is what led me to Salon Purple. They REALLY know what they are doing with curly hair there! The whole experience was awesome--I was offered a bottle of water and a complimentary chair massage (which was awesome) upon arrival, and the staff were personable and courteous with me while I waited. Kristy was my stylist, and she did an excellent job with my hair. She listened to me and asked questions, and I could tell she was really analyzing my hair and its curl pattern as she was working with it. She took her time with my hair, which I really appreciated, and the result is fabulous. I walked out with bouncy, revived curls and a lot more confidence! I will definitely be going back to Kristy at Salon Purple!! p.s. Kristy also gave me pointers as she worked, and showed me the amounts of products she was using and how to apply it.

  One word.... AMAZING! I can't tell you how many times my hair has been butchered after calling to make sure the stylist/colorist knew how to work with curly hair. Of course, I walked in to Salon Purple with the though of "we'll see how this goes". Quickly, I learned that Avery is one of the best. Not only does she know what she's talking about, she also helps to make sure I know what she's talking about. Every time I walk out of the salon, I'm 200% satisfied with the results. I recommend everyone with curly hair to make an appointment with Avery. She's awesome!

  At last I love my hair again, thanks to Salon Purple. On my most recent visit, Christi gave me a beach wave to rejuvenate the curl in my hair (and I LOVE the results!) My hair feels so much thicker now, and the curl is beautiful (plus it doesn't flatten out after sleeping on it). After the beach wave, Terry gave me an excellent cut. He is so knowledgeable, and I've learned so much from him about how to take care of my hair. For the first time in a long time, I like what I see when I look in the mirror at my hair.   Best hair cut I have ever had! Terry listened to me and cut my hair exactly how I described I wanted it. I really felt that my haircut was customized for my hair. Prices are a little steep, especially in this economy, so it might be a while between haircuts but I won't be going anywhere else.

  I started going to Terry almost 2 years ago after finding him on this site. I am sooooo happy I found him. After years of having bad cuts, it was great to find someone who could make my curly hair look so good. He was able to fix the bad cut I had as well as the horrible color! I no longer feel like I am doing battle with my hair every day. It is truly a low maintenance "condition and go 'doo!" The Pravana products are fantastic. I also appreciate that Terry is never pushy about his products or processes. He listens to the client and then makes suggestions based on his knowledge. So refreshing!

  I found out about Salon Purple on this website and I am VERY VERY excited that I went to Terry!!! He is a real professional and he understands curly hair. He teaches you about your hair and how to take care of it. I hadn't cut my hair in over two years because I'd had it butchered so many times in the past(I know you know what I'm saying, it would end up a big curl puff). Terry ended up cutting off about 8 inches, and worked with my curls and cut layers that flow together effortlessly. I've NEVER had a cut this good! My curls are bouncy again!!! I would recommend him to anyone, especially those with curly hair. If you've been growing your hair out in terror of what could happen to it in a salon, go to Terry.   After several years of looking for a new stylist I feel like I can stop the search! I completely loved my experience at the salon and with Terry and adore my cut. I sincerely appreciated the time and attention that Terry gave to me before, during and after cutting my hair. He gave me tons of advice and tips to care for my naturally curly hair. I also appreciated his knowledge of the hair products he carries, but that he was not at all pushy with them as many salons tend to be. I am completely satisfied and recommend the salon to anyone!

  Pure happiness! Salon Purple has everything I look for in a hair salon. I have been going since they opened and my hair has never been better; long, thick and shiny. No exaggeration. The Pravada line of products is exceptional. Their stylists are truly artists in hair design and amazing color. If you've ever thought about going to an expensive salon to get the look that's "just right" for your face, don't do it. Head straight to Salon Purple and let them work their magic.   This review is long overdue! I have been wanting to write it for months, but my work schedule has been insane! Now, I'm off for the holidays and I want to give MAJOR credit where it is due!! Terry was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I just moved to TX in July and was very anxious about finding a stylist who could care for my curly hair (i.e. I could leave the salon without looking like an 80's prom queen). After reading the reviews for Salon Purple, I decided to give it a shot! I am SO GLAD that I did!!!! When living in the northeast, I had my hair cut and styled buy Quidad certified specialists...while they did a great job, they CANNOT compare to Terry. He gave me the most amazing cut and color I have EVER had. I visited him just before a special trip to Italy...not only did I get TONS of compliments on my hair, but now I can always be happy with my pictures! :) I will definitely be planning many trips to Salon Purple in the future!   I highly recommend Salon Purple! I found Terry through this website, and after all the rave reviews, I decided to give him a try. I have never had one hairstylist that has known how to cut my horribly flat, wavy/frizzy hair, and have been cutting my own hair for 5+ years. I got tired of all of the split ends (I was using regular, store-bought scissors [yes, I didn't think that through too much lol]) and only being somewhat happy with my own work, and decided to take the plunge and try a professional again. Boy, am I happy! Terry listened to my complaints, asked me what I wanted out of my haircut, and cut lots of layers into my hair (something I apparently needed lots of!), and I have gotten SOOOOOO many compliments on how it looks, curly AND straight! I have been told I have curly hair to die for, and now I can finally learn to love it! Thank you Terry!

  I have been so disgusted with my hair that I was willing to try just about anything. I found Terry and Salon Purple on NaturalyCurly.com and based on the reviews I made an appointment 9/5/09 and traveled five hours from Lubbock to Ft. Worth for the help I was looking for. Let’s just say I have had curly hair all my life and based on my age that has been quite a while. I was so very impressed with Terry. In all my years I have never had anyone spend the time with me that Terry did. Before he cut my hair he studied my growth pattern so that he would know what would work best for my curls. He took the time to give me all kinds of tips on styling my hair. He then cut my hair, let me tell you it was not like any other cut I have had before. He explained what he was doing as he was cutting and I could see that he was cutting with my curl not against it. Amazing!!! He then styled my hair using some of the tips that he had talked to me about. My curls have never looked better. I will say that now that I am home, it is a learning curve from my old ways. I have never been one to spend any time styling my hair so even a little change is big for me. In order to style my curls I am practicing the different tips that Terry gave me to learn what works best for my curls. I know that very quickly I will have it down to an art. I would also like to say that his salon is so laid back. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Terry gained my confidence and a new client. It is well worth the drive! Thanks to Terry Whiddon at Salon Purple, I can now LOVE my curls.

  I finally had my hair cut by a stylist that actually knows how to treat curly hair! I like that he listened to me - want wash and wear style with minimal fuss. And the bonus was the product they use - Pravana. I got rid of all my other shampoos and conditioners as my hair is really responding well to this sulfate free shampoo!

  I, like so many others out there with naturually curly hair, was very skeptical about going to someone new again for the umpteenth time; but this time it paid off. Terry can work magic with naturally curly hair. I have never been able to leave a salon feeling like I look good when a stylist has tried to dry my hair curly (straight yes but curly never.) Usually I have to come home right away and jump in the shower and wash out all the goop they put on it trying to get it to do something, but not this time. I could actually even wear it the next day and it still looked good. He knows how to work curls and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a new stylist whether your hair is curly or straight.   I found this salon in Fort Worth located just east of downtown. I have curly hair and just couldn't stand it so I thought I'd try this salon, it couldn't be any worse than the others I've been to. I was pleasantly surprised how Terry took the time to teach me about my hair and show me how to fix it. Now I wear my hair curly all the time. My hair has never looked or felt better! I love the products he used. I've gone another time to have color put in my hair, the color is great. I recommend Terry and Salon Purple to everyone.
