  I went to Underground based on the recommendation I read on this site. I live about an hour and a half away, and it was definitely worth the drive. Like the previous post mentioned, Chris cuts your hair dry and does give an amazing scalp massage. He is good about asking you what you like/don't like and giving you care suggestions for your curls. The cut he gave is just what I wanted - easy, no fuss and my curls look great. Chris seems like he really wants to make you happy, give you a cut you like and an all-around good experience at the salon. I will definitely go back!

  I recently moved from New York and was a regular client at the Devachan salon. After moving to Santa Barbara, I was lucky enough to find Chris. He has read Loraine Massey's Curly Girl book, and he knows how to properly cut curly hair. He cuts my hair dry and pays attention to each individual curl. Plus, the hair cut comes with an amazing scalp massage!
