I went to get a haircut from Debbie at Off Mane Street yesterday and she was as good as all of the previous reviews stated. She worked on my hair and educated me on everything from products, haircuts, styles, etc. for two hours. She is very knowledgeable and truly cares and understands about the problems of having curly hair. It was the first time that I have left a hair stylist and not ran home to immediately redo it.

I'm pretty sure when I left the salon curly headed angels were singing and shining lights on Debbie. She understood that I wanted a haircut to wear curly, not one that would look good straight and then I could wear it curly if I wanted to. (How many times have we curlies heard that?)
She knew about different curly hair products and didn't bat an eyelash when I told her my hair preferred honey and aloe vera gel.
My experience with Debbie was fantastic and even though I'll be moving out of state in a few months I am already plotting my returns around my haircut schedule. She was ~that~ fantastic!

Debbie did a fantastic job with my curly hair. She listened carefully to what I wanted and asked detailed questions about my hair care routine. During the cut she gave me great tips on how to enhance my curls and reduce frizz. The salon has a lovely spa-like feel to it that made me feel pampered. Debbie is super-friendly and made me feel at ease as soon as I walked in the door. Best of all, my hair looks incredible- I will be recommending her to all my curly girlfriends!

Debbie has done my hair for three years now and I have never had a better hairdresser or haircut to show off my wavy/curly hair! I first saw her reviews here on naturally curly and I've never looked back. Debbie really knows what she's doing with curly hair from loose curls like mine to tight spirals like my moms. Not only is she an expert on curls, but also her salon is beautiful and comfortable and Debbie herself is amazing. After my last haircut, I had at least three guys stop me and say how great my hair looked! Her cuts also hold their style for a really long time and continue to look lovely as they grow out. I could not recommend Debbie enough!!

Debbie has been my stylist for over 20 years! She has taken me thru perms, colors, grey hair, straight hair and curly hair. As you can imagine my hair has changed quite a bit over the years and Debbie has been right there with the right products, style or color to fit whatever style I wanted. Debbie educates herself on all the changing trends in styles as well as new products to help manage your hair. I would recommend Debbie to any hair type.

I started going to Debbie about four months ago. I moved from Florida to Nashville about a year ago and I was having a tough time finding a stylist who can cut curly hair well. I finally found the stylist. Debbie is great. She has a lot of experience cutting curly hair, she's a great colorist and she's reasonable. She knows a lot about hair and she listens well. It's a little bit of a drive since the shop is in Hendersonville but it's well worth the trip and you won't be disappointed. I would recommend her to anyone, even if you don't have curly hair.

Debbie Owensby, the owner of Off Mane Street Salon, is so knowledgeable about hair. Most hair stylist never continue their education after completing their initial training. Debbie consistently takes classes so that she is always current when it comes to new cutting and styling techniques. My hair is fine, wavy and fuzzy-a triple threat. Debbie knows exactly how to cut and style my hair. She also takes the time to educate me so that I can style my hair at home. Personality-wise, Debbie is a hoot and her salon is so warm and unpretentious-just the way I like it!

Debbie is awesome!! I found Debbie on naturallycurly.com and decided to give her a try when I saw all the great reviews! I am so glad I did, I don't know that I have ever loved a hair cut this much!! She told me to come in with my hair in its natural state, so she could see what my curl pattern was like. I knew then that she knew what she was doing! I had really long hair and she cut it into a shoulder length style that I LOVE!! She also showed me how to style my hair to help with the frizz, which was a big problem for me! I will definitely be seeing Debbie for all my future hair needs! And I am referring all my curly hair friends to her. Thank you Debbie!!!!

Hey Curlies!! I've been seein Debbie for around 3 years now, Debbie always does a fantastic job on my hair and is very consistant with her work, she does great cuts, she does what is called a slide cut. it does a beautiful job with curly hair. And COLOR! omg! does she ever do a beautiful color!! Debbie is very proud of all the education she has had and is not afraid to share it!! She turned my hair from dry and frizzy to soft and smooth. Simply put, Debbie is a great stylist. If you have curly or wavy hair, you will not believe what she can do for you until you go for an appointment. I was always so frustrated with my curly hair, constantly flat ironing it or pulling it up in a pony tail. I found Debbie and my curly hair become soft and non frizzy. Never had I found such great results before. Not only is she great with curly hair but she does awesome work with colors as well. It never fails after I get my hair done that someone always comment on it. My best advice for anyone is to try Debbie just once and you'll never go anywhere else. Thanks Debbie!!

I am thrilled to have found Debbie at Off Mane Street Salon. Until I found her my curly hair was a real problem to me and I was so disappointed with the other stylists that I went to. I have been seeing Debbie for about a year now. She approached me and asked me if I had trouble getting good cuts for my curls. I told her that I did. She told me that she thought she could really make my curls beautiful. Well, she was right! My hair has never looked so good. It was looking thin and stringy when I came in and now it is full and my curls are round, springy and beautiful.
She also colors my hair and has done a beautiful job with that. My color had become very dark. She did color correction and has made it a gorgeous chocolate brown with caramel highlights and some lowlights as well. For the first time in years I leave the salon and do not go straight home to redo my hair. This lady knows curls!!

At last! I moved to the area this summer and have had several cuts & colors that were not working for me. Then I FOUND DEBBIE on this site through well-deserved glowing reviews.
My hair is wavy curvy & coarse & has a natural tendency to frizz out to a triangle shape - the opposite I need for my face shape.
Debbie gave me one of those magic haircuts that you wash, partially dry & go & it looks fantastic! All day & night. It's been 2 weeks and I have not had a bad hair day - I smile when I see my reflection in the mirror now and it has the professional, but funky look I love.
My color was a wreck when I came in, but like a magnificent chef, she "threw on" on a bit of this & that & created a masterpiece. My hair is naturally auburn, but had been dyed dark, much to my dismay, and Debbie brought out the auburn with a flair, by touching up the roots, "throwing on" a few highlights, and finishing it with a demi-glace for pizazz. Wow!
Last but not least, she is fun & delightful & cares - called me to ask how my hair is with an offer to tweak if needed.

I recently came to see Debbie thru another curly headed friend of mine. I loved her!! She was very good at listening to what I had to say and taking into account how i want my hair to look. She did an excellent job!! She gave me a beautiful color and a great cut!! She gave me a conditioning treatment that made my hair feel like silk and defined my curls at the same time. Sarah cut my oldest daughters hair on a spur of the moment decision. She was fabulous! She talked with my daughter, not only about styles, but what she would need to do to style her hair and take care of it properly. She offered her honest opinions and experience, and my daughter came out with an adorable cut that both she and I are very happy with. Her daddy on the other hand is going to think she looks too grown up, but he's a man...what does he know? While my daughter doesn't have curly hair, yet, it is developing, and the cut Sarah gave her showcases a lot of the natural bounce she has in her hair, and is a good style for young girls. It doesn't look too childish, nor does it look too mature. Sarah nailed it in her suggestions, and I'm glad my daughter followed what she suggested.

YOU GUYS. I'm so happy. My hair is looks incredible and is on its way to being the healthiest it's ever been. And it's all thanks to Debbie!
First off, when I entered, I was greeted oh-so-kindly. Debbie is the sweetest. The conversation in the salon isn't mindless chit-chat like others I've experienced; she truly cares about giving you the most helpful information about your hair.
Secondly, Debbie is incredibly knowledgeable. I felt at ease in her care. For us curly girls, you know that's rare to find. She made sure I understood what she was doing and walked me through the process of my treatment, cut, and styling.
Finally, she assured me that if I was unhappy with anything after styling my hair on my own, she would be more than happy to do anything she could to get me looking and feeling my best. She even said she wouldn't be offended or get defensive because "it's not about her." How great is that?!
I walked out of Off Mane Street Salon looking AND feeling great! I've never had such an exciting and worthwhile experience at a salon before. It makes me so excited to return in ten weeks!

I decided to go to Debbie based on some reviews I found online, and boy am I happy I did. She is great. I never knew how curly my hair was until I decided to grow it out. Getting frustrated with the tangles and at a loss of what to do next (maybe just cut it all off and stick with short hair) I went to Debbie for help. She was so knowledgeable, it was like taking a crash course in curly hair 101. With her encouragement and amazing help I have decided to continue growing it out, and it has never looked better.

Debbie is great! I havent had a good cut since moving out of Ohio...my last few experiences, had me so scared to go to another salon, I hadnt had my hair cut in over a year. It was out of control, and I couldnt do anything with it. Debbie listened to what I wanted, let me keep my length (every other stylist, just chopped it all off regardless of what I said). My hair is the easiest its been in years, maybe ever, to style. Debbie has taken me from hating my hair, to loving it again :)

After reading other reviews about Debbie on naturallycurly.com I went to see her. She gave me several tips to help with my curl and my frizz. She gave me a great cut and color. She is helping me to repair my dry damaged hair.
She has been sincerely concerned with my satisfaction and I AM MORE THAN SATISFIED!!!
Debbie recently did the Brazillian Keratin Treatment on my hair. It looks great! My hair drys in half the time and the curl is relaxed.

I contacted Off Mane Street Salon based on the review I read on the naturallycurly website. I am so happy I did! I have never had a stylist take so much time with me, and educate me so well on how to take care of my hair as Debbie did. If you live anywhere near Hendersonville, I highly recommend that you call Off Mane - you will not be sorry.
I went to Debbie based on the review here, and I'm thrilled to say that I'm over the moon with her service, her personality, and my hair. She'd never heard of the Curly Girl routine before, but she was so incredibly supportive when I told her that I do not use shampoo on my hair. She corrected my color effortlessly (salon fear had pushed me into a self-coloring nightmare), and she added the most beautiful highlights to really showcase my curls. She also gave me the best haircut I've had in years, respecting that I'm still growing out my hair while taking care of the ends that were giving me a fuzzy look. I will absolutely be returning to her, and I highly recommend her to other curly ladies looking for a salon home.
On a side note, I also wanted to mention that the atmosphere of the salon is very relaxed and comfortable. I've been to other salons in which I felt underdressed, out of style, and not in the clique. That was not the case here. Debbie and the other stylists were professional but approachable, warm, and welcoming. It was a very, very pleasant experience.
