    A Ouidad stylist right here in Tampa and what a Ouidad stylist she is! My hair life could not be better and I thank goodness that I found Jennifer Kenny. Jen cut my hair 3 months ago and I have not had a bad hair day since and not only does my hair still look great, it looks better and better every day. Jen is worth every penny you will spend on her haircuts! I no longer have to worry or be apprehensive when I need a haircut, I have total confidence in Jen and do not even feel I need to tell her what I want, I totally trust her judgment. In addition, Jen takes her time styling your hair after the cut and explaining what products will work best with your hair and gives you plenty of samples to try before you buy. I have lived in Tampa for 30 years and for 30 years I have found few hair stylists that know what they are doing, especially when cutting curly hair. Actually I only found one and he was in Ft. Lauderdale I have gone to what are supposed to be the "best" stylists in Tampa dropping $100 + on a haircut and have come home crying and on the search to find another to fix the mess I would be in. Examples of those "top" stylists and salons, Mikel at Mikel's on S. MacDill and Chad at Salon Jack on S. MacDill, believe me Jennifer Kenny is soooo much better than this stylist and worth the money you pay, the others, not so much. Thank you Jen, each day when I jump out of the shower I am grateful I found you!

    Jennifer saved my curls!! I started growing out my relaxer about a year and a half ago and am completely natural now. I was blowing my hair out and using the flat iron still so my hair was still behaving as though it was relaxed. However I was frustrated because I thought I was ruining my hair because everytime I tried to wear my curls it was big and frizzy. I was just about to cut it all off and relax it again when I decided to give a professional a chance to teach me how to care for my curls. I found The Curl Girl on NaturllyCurly and went in for a consult. Jennifer made me a believer again and I have been wearing my beautiful curls (that I didn't realize I had) proudly ever since. I've even thrown out all of my bubbly shampoo and started caring for my 3 year old's hair as well. Thanks Jen!

    Several years ago, I had heard of the "carve and slice" cut by Ouidad. Being a curly headed chicha for many years, I had had more than my share of butchered hair cuts so, I ventured to find where this haircut was. I went on the internet to book an appointment but, at the time, there were only 2 salons in the world that did this cut.... Santa Monica and NYC. So, being the desperate curly headed gal that I am, I booked a flight to LA (saw family too.... not THAT desperate) and got my 1st Ouidad cut. I was THRILLED! Problem: now I will have to fly across the country to get a great haircut. Problem solved: Jennifer now does the Ouidad cut, 5 minutes from my home. She does a fantastic job of incorporating the Ouidad techniques and her other training in curly hair to give me the best style every time. Love you Jenn for giving me peace of mind when it comes to my hair. I no longer have to feel anxious that I could walk away from a salon with butchered hair. I've gone from hating to get my hair cut to absolutely loving it!

    It is impossible for me to pu into words the talent that I have seen from Jennifer Kenny. Every time I am at the salon, I observe her workher magic. I have seen thhe smiles of her clients every time they sit in her chair. As a client mysef, I have never had a more dedicated stylist in my life. I would never ever allow anyone else to do mmy hair.

    It is so refreshing to find a stylist who can make me love my curls again. I found Jennifer via the Ouidad website and sent a message requesting a consultation. She called me that day and said I could pop in, even if she was with a client. I knew then that she is passionate about her work and takes her "Curl Girl" designation very seriously. The consultation was great - she looked at my hair, listened to my complaints, and talked about products we could try. On the day of my appointment, I was so excited to get old relaxed hair cut off and see how my natural curls would look with a shorter cut. She was excited, too! She took her time and explained everything. She is a great stylist and fabulous person. I'm thrilled to finally have someone who knows how to deal with my curls!

    I have tried many high-end salons in Tampa and Jennifer has given me the best haircut I have ever had. My hair looks healthy and is easier to manage. Not only has Jennifer given my curls a new life she shares lots of valuable tips and tricks that I have now incorporated into my routine.     It's amazing that I have been able to find someone out there that actually knows how to cut curly hair! Jennifer is the best~ she taught me how to make my curls look great, told me about the types of products to use (with no pressure to buy) and showed me how to keep my curls from frizzing. Jen is just the sweetest thing and extremely knowledgeable. I can't recommend her highly enough. If you go once, you'll be a client for life!

    The Curl Girl is not the regular hair stylist; Jenny is a very educated and knowledgeable of curly hair products, maintenance, style and the most important part embarrassing our curl with pride and LOVE. In the past, I've had so many sad and frustrating visits to other hair salons and dramatic encounters with hair stylists that they had no clue about my hair but thanks God that is in the past; today I can say; "The best my hair ever look!" and Jenny is a keeper!

    Jen is so fabulous with curly hair. I had been looking for someone with even just a little bit of knowledge of how to cut curly hair and Jen really knows her stuff. She took time to talk to me about her training, how she would be cutting my hair and the products she would recommend. She's an expert to the 10th degree! The FL humidity really does a job on my curls (can you say frizz?) but the cut and products she used have helped me keep my curls under control.

    I asked a total stranger on the street where she got her curly hair cut and she couldn't have been happier than to pass along Jennifer's info.~ I was very pleased with the cut. She used techniques that I had never seen before. She was very knowledgeable and gave me great information about styling and products. She talked about the products and why I should use certain ones, but I didn't feel any pressure to buy them from her. I will definitely go back!

    This was my first real curlygirl cut , and I couldn't be happier. Jen explained every step she and why she did it from styling to product application and the actual cut. It was a relief to be with a stylist that loves curls and understands that I wanted to keep them and not have them straightened. The only downside is that it's a little pricey (but really, how often do curls need to be cut anyway :), but it's DEFINITELY WORTH IT for the expertise provided.

    Recently found Jennifer on the naturallycurly.com salon finder and I couldn't be happier. Jennifer & I had set up a consultation and she took all the time I needed to answer all of my questions regarding her technique for cutting curly hair and the product that she recommends. Because my hair had been cut a little shorter than I would have liked (not by Jennifer, but my previous stylist) , she recommended that I let it grow out a bit so there would be more to work with. She explained to me that she has had specific training in cutting curly hair, and boy could I tell the difference between my old cut and the new. It's like my curls have finally been cut to work with the curl pattern they were meant to have.

    Jennifer must have been a curly girl in a past life because she knows how to rock my curls! I couldn't been happier with my cut & style and Jennifer always takes the time to explain to me why she's doing what she's doing while cutting and why the products she uses on me are the best for my type of curls. I do know that if you aren't lucky enough to have curly hair, you won't be lucky enough to get your hair cut by Jennifer~ only curly girls need apply!!

    First let me say that I have been fighting a loosing battle with my fine, curly hair, most of my life. I have always tried to blow dry it straight and finally decided to go curly. I thought it would be hard to find someone that is good with curly hair. I'm glad I found these review boards and saw the awesome reviews for Jen.     For years I have struggled with my curly hair. Until I discovered Ouidad and Jen Kenny. With patience, kindness, and knowledge she has transitioned me from hating my curls to loving my curls! (even on a hot, humid day in Florida) She is by far the best stylist I have ever had. At first, I thought she really just liked ME but she is that way with everyone. Jen even emailed me after our last appointment to see how I liked my cut and style. What a woman! Finally someone who understands and listens to our "kind". I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat. Love you, Jen!!

    I found Jennifer online on Facebook and made an appt. Right away I was impressed with her candidness and her love for curly hair. There was a point where I was giving up on my curls and my cut and going another route. She sensed this and offered me other options and I must say I am IN LOVE with my curls again. I was lucky enough to get an appointment not long afterwards and and I thrilled. Besides being a super person, Jen gave me the best cut I've ever had. If you're lucky enough to live anywhere in the central FL area, Jen is definitely the way to go!!

I may not be a typical "curly girl", but Jennifer cut my hair so bring out the natural waves and really accentuated my features. I would recommend Jennifer to anyone with curly or wavy hair.     What can you say about a stylist who cares more about your curls than you do? Well, that's probably not true, but everytime I have the pleasure of having Jen cut & style my hair, I feel like she does :) Jen took time to talk to me about my hair, product & styling that would help me get the most of my curls.     Jennifer is a god-send. I actually worked at a salon previously as a receptionist that had several stylist trained in Deva - several cuts with them and I still wasn't happy. I was loosing hope at ever finding anyone who understood my curls for their unique quirks. I have 3a/b hair, and I also have some crazy kinky frizzy sections around the hairline of my forehead. Whenever I got my hair cut professionally I would leave with it huge and frizzy and ugly in my opinion. I ended up just having my mom trim my hair whenever it started to drive me crazy, which was fine but I knew my hair could be better. Its my crowning-glory, something I want to be proud of, something special and unique about me. When I found Jennifer online, at naturallycurly.com, and read all the wonderful reviews she had, it gave me hope. So saving up money for something I never treated myself to, I went to her for a cut and style. OH WOW! I cant even begin to say how great my experience was. She knows her curls through and through. She knew what I wanted even when I didn't. She knew how to bring out the best in my curls, and how to explain and teach me to take care of them myself! The cut was perfect, exactly what I had wanted for so long. She even styled it to perfection! Taking the time to explain and show me tips and tricks along the way. I got so many compliments afterward, even if they didn't know what was different about me, they said I looked great. For someone with low self esteem that makes all the difference in the world - and I thank Jenn for it. Not only is she knowledgeable but she is kind and caring, and definitely deserving of any recognition she gets.

    When I get up from Jen's chair I feel like I have someone else's hair on my head. She is amazing, She listens to your concerns. I think one of the most important qualities is that she is always doing continuing education in her field and gets so excited about learning new information and techniques. I wish I had found her sooner, but am so glad to have her in my future.

    Amaaaaazing! From consult to curls, this girl knows her stuff. Your hair will never be the same and you will never want to find another stylist. Once you've had the best, nothing else compares and Jen is THE BEST. She knows her hair and she knows which products are the best for your hair. If she says buy it, then buy it....otherwise, you will go back a week later and buy it anyway (I speak from experience). If you have curls, then you must go to The Curl Girl....just don't try to steal MY regularly scheduled appointment. ;-)

    If i could do higher than a five I would... maybe more like 152 in my book! I absolutely love this woman, she makes your hair cutting experience a party for sure! Your whole visit is very relaxing and fun, there is always laughter going on. You will not want to leave once you sit in her chair. I would recommend ANYONE with curly hair that can make it to tampa to definitely go see Jennifer. I promise that you will not regret it at all. My hair has never felt or looked as good as it has since I started going to her almost a year ago. And she gives you at home applications to do for your hair, not things that you will see done at the salon but cant do at home. Hands down, YOU WILL LOVE HER TOO!!!!

    I hit the jackpot when I found Jennifer. She gave me the best cut of my life, and most importantly, made me feel comfortable & understood. She took all the time I needed to discuss my concerns (I wanted to chop off my nearly waist-length hair, which I had since I was a little girl, in exchange for a drastically shorter cut) and then blew my mind with my new style. She is the first stylist who understands my wavy grey hair - I love Jen so much I took my 11 year old granddaughter to her. I think it is very necessary to have an 11 year old learn to love her very curly hair not let anyone tell her she needs it straightened or that they can do nothing with her hair.     This is one of the best haircuts I have ever had. I was on vacation in Tampa just before the Christmas season. I was in desperate need of a haircut and color and could never find time at home just for me. Somehow, on vacation I seemed to have lots of time for myself and so I booked an appointment at Tranzitions. The salon was recommended to me by family I have in Tampa. Jennifer took so much time with me making sure that my cut was perfect and that I could make it look as great as she did the next day and the next.... She taught me how to style my hair in a way that I could do it myself -- and I did and still am every morning! I am still getting compliments on my hair and it has been almost a month.     I always thought my very thick 3A/3B curls were strange looking and too difficult for most stylists to handle because over the years they have either complained about me while I sat in their chair, charged me more than they charged their other clients or refused to cut my hair altogether (2 stylists have done this to me stating it took too long and that they could see 3 clients in the time it took to work with me alone!), but Jen Kenney was completely different! She's very professional, friendly, and makes me feel so much more confident about having curly hair. She doesn't blow dry my hair straight after cutting it or encourage me to get it chemically straightened as so many have in the past, and she actually cut it into a style that doesn't resemble a pyramid or a bell. As a matter of fact, I rarely lose any length when I go to her; she mostly gives it shape and takes out the bulk and it looks so shiny and healthy! No matter how much training a stylist receives, I truly believe that properly cutting curly hair takes talent, and Jen possesses this gift-which is so rare. I'm moving away soon and I'm in a panic about how I'm going to find someone to do even HALF of what Jen has done for me, not to mention how good and happy and confident I feel when I get up from her chair. That says a lot - I lost my job this year along with several other difficulties I've been faced with, so my confidence has been in the gutter - Jen is most deserving of awards, kudos, a raise...everything and anything to express my and certainly her other clients' gratitude for how great she makes them not only look but more importantly feel.

    Jennifer Kenny is the hair genius and saviour to curly heads hidden in Tampa, Florida. Her vast knowledge of cutting and styling techniques for curly hair was obvious as I sat in her chair last night. She is down to earth and very personable yet profound in her knowledge of all things hair. I'm an extremely picky customer; I did a lot of research before deciding to book with 'the curl girl', and I've spend hundreds of dollars on haircuts with top hair-art creators around the world, and she stands easily with the best of them when it comes to curly hair. I look forward to seeing more editorial work from Jennifer as I truly believe she understands and treats hair as a 3-dimensional sculpture.

    For as long as I can remember, I hated to get my hair cut because no one knows how to cut kinky curly hair. For over 20 years, I straightened my hair and just got tired of fighting my curls and the hair damage caused by those harsh chemicals. All those years I walked out of salons with a pyramid cut and extremely unhappy...but the ends needed to get cut. Just last year, I found my Jennifer Kenny via a friend searching online for curly hair specialists. I live about 1.5 hours away from Transitions and found it ludicrous to drive that far to have someone cut my hair, but I did, and will drive it every time. As I sat on Jennifer's chair I was sweating from overwhelming fear. She put me at ease and just told me to trust her. I loved the fact that she truly listened to my heart before she even started touching my hair. For the first time in my life I walked out of a salon totally satisfied and loving my curls...and thanks to Ouidad products.

    Jennifer is the best! After nearly 50 years, I have finally decided to embrace my curls instead of fighting them. I had come to her after a search on the internet for someone who could work with curly hair properly. She was very patient when I couldn't tell her exactly what I wanted and the was very informative when she instructed me in how to care for my curls. The cuts I get from her last for months, so the nearly 90 miles I drive one way to see here are not even a consideration. As I said in the beginning, Jennifer is the best! PS I had no way of knowing if 1 or 5 is the top, but she deffinitly is!
