- I had my hair cut and styled a couple weeks ago by Anna Craig at Trashy Roots Salon & Spa in Round Rock, Texas – and I could not be happier! I always thought I had a “funky” wave in my hair – not curly, not really wavy, but hard to style. Turns out it wasn’t my hair that was the problem, but how I was getting it cut and the products I was using. Anna listened to what I wanted, gave me a fabulous cut, and introduced me to the Devacurl products and showed me how to use them. I’m happy to say that after doing my hair myself, it still looks as great as when Anna did it! And I have the wavy curl I’ve been trying to get forever. Plus, my hair smells awesome and it was easy, easy, easy! It’s weeks later and I’m still getting compliments from friends who say it’s one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. I couldn’t agree more! I would absolutely recommend anyone with curly/wavy hair to see Anna – especially if you haven’t figured out how to work your curls.

- Wow don't know who keeps writing the same negative things over and over again but I have been going to Anna at Trashy Roots since it opened several years ago. I have referred numberous friends (got my free haircuts for referring three friends). Everyone has been VERY happy with their experience and they have referred numerous friends. I am sorry that the negative writer did not have a good experience. But take it from someone who has been a customer of Trashy Roots for a long long time - it is definitely worth a try!!!!!!

- This last review is nuts. I've been going to Anna for several years now. She always gives me her full attention and I think of her as a true friend. I've really gotten to know her over the years and she is a great stylist. That last review is such a joke. She is always teaching me different ways of doing my hair curly and straight. If I have somewhere special to go she will give me a fancy do for the evening. I refer everyone I know to her. This salon is so comfortable and relaxing. My color is always exactly what I want. If I come in with some crazy idea for my hair Anna will set me straight and help lead me into a better hair idea. She never stears me wrong. I know that my hair is always in good hands and she has my best interest at heart. To save money she know only cuts my hair every other hair appointment because I needed to cut back and I still look just as fabulous. Anna is a great stylist and my personal stylist.

- I, like many others, went to Anna for a Deva Cut. I was happy with my current stylist, but thought I'd give Anna a try because my other stylist is not trained in the Deva Cut and Anna is a little bit less expensive. The first time I went to Anna, she seemed to be in a foul mood and/or not like me. She was curt and dismissive and even insulted my grey hairs (they don't bother me, but I guess they bothered her). She was juggling me with another client (cutting that person's hair while she had me under the dryer). The way she styled my hair wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible and I'm used to stylists not knowing quite how to handle my hair. The haircut itself was a good one.
After that experience, I decided to give Anna the benefit of the doubt and chalk her attitude up to the possibility that she was just having a bad day. I booked a second appointment with her 3 months later with the hope that I would have a better experience. At my second haircut, her attitude was just the same - rude and condescending. She was again juggling me with another client and this time, she styled my hair horribly. I am going back to my previous stylist - I don't mind paying a bit more for someone who is pleasant to spend time with and her wet haircut is just as good as Anna's Deva Cut.

- I have absolutely hated my curly hair since I was a child. When I came into Trashy Roots Anna introduced me to Devacurl and dared me to just try my hair curly one time. She swore if I didn't like it she woudl blow it straight. So I took a chance and fell in love with my curly hair. I get so many compliments and comments on how great my curls are. I'm a convert and I love Devacurl. It has changed my life. The salon is fab, they are so friendly and upbeat. I love having a place away from my hectic life to relax and have a glass of wine. Anna taught me how to use the Deva products and when I was having problems with them she showed me different options. I love this salon and I finally love my hair.

Sara is incredible for the first time in my existence on planet earth as a curly hair I can truly say I am proud to have been born a curly hair!!! I can now thank my mom for her genetics and Sara for her styling.

- I had an appt with Anna on 6/11 for a Deva cut, all over color, and also added the balyage highlights at the last minute (even though Anna was really busy, she made time for me!). I am very pleased with the outcome and will definitely go back. My curls look so much fresher and I look brighter and less tired with the highlights.

- I would probably give the salon a better rating if I hadn't had to wait so long under the dryer. I sat under the dryer so long I wondered if I should just get up and go home. While under the dryer another client was seen by Anna. I felt as a paying client I should feel like I'm the only one in that time frame. I saw other stylists who were being attentive to their clients so I felt forgotten. My hair felt really weighed down with product when I left which doesn't feel great with curly hair. I thought by scheduling a DevaStyle and Cut that I'd be taught how to manage my curly hair and create more defined curls but basically I learned to just scrunch. I'm not a fan of scrunched looked curls so I was a little disappointed at that. I did like that I was able to purchase DevaCurl products to use at home on sale. I, also, the older receptionist to be rude while checking in and out. She dismissed me by waving her hand at me. After I paid I was left standing there wondering if I was done or if she was going to invite me back. I had to ask if there was anything else I needed to do. She looked up from her computer and said no kinda rudely. I do like the style and idea of the salon. It is hip and trendy. The stylists looked really fun and fresh. I will continue to go but I'll probably see someone else who isn't so busy they have to double book.

- Anna was rushed when giving my cut/color. As I was telling her what I liked & didn't like about my hair I felt as if she was not even listening to me. I asked for a deva cut & root touchup. When I left salon and got in car.....there was dye all over my forehead and side of face. I can't believe any stylist would let a client leave that way. Not real happy with cut....seems like my hair is curly on the top portion and straighter underneath. She gave two other cuts while I was there. Sometimes I really wish you could get your money back after a negative experience with a salon. I won't go back.

I trust her with my hair. She always has new ideas and styles it different every time I come in. She never gives me boring hair. If you need a new look or need an amazing stylist, Anna is your girl.

- Overall, a terrible experience. I feel ripped off. I'm surprised, because it seemed like this salon and stylist are generally well reviewed.
I came in expecting to be able to talk about what I wanted, but as soon as I told Anna that I was thinking about getting a Deva cut, she needlessly insulted my current hairstyle and started chopping away. When I told her that I was nervous about having short, chunky layers since I hadn't liked the look in the past, she essentially told me that I didn't know what I was talking about.
She washed my hair, put in a ton of product, and plopped me under the diffuser. I got the impression that she was in a big hurry to get me out of the salon and I left with my hair basically wet.
When I bought products, she tried to upsell me to a more expensive gel and then lied and said the total would come to ten dollars less than it actually did. When I noticed this, she acted like it was my problem, and then agreed to charge me the original promised amount. I paid 80$ for the hair cut and 60$ for the products. When my hair dried it was curly, but clearly had too much product in it and was incredibly sticky and stiff.
When I got home, I realized that she'd actually given me two shampoos instead of a shampoo and a conditioner. When I went back to exchange one of the shampoos for a conditioner, they were out of the smaller size I'd paid for. I thought it was pretty reasonable to expect that they just cover the difference since they had made a mistake, but they refused. I was so ready to be done with the experience that I let them bully me into giving them another thirty dollars.
And as if that wasn't enough, I realized later that the reason my hair had been so sticky and gross was that she had also given me a leave-in conditioner when she said she was giving me a gel. By that time I had no desire to interact with Trashy Roots, kept the useless product, and ordered gel off of Curlmart.
And I don't even like my hair cut. True story. What a disaster!

- Anna Craig is a miracle worker. I am half black and half white, so my hair is curly (3b) but fine at the same time. Usually, I go to a stylist just to get my ends cut off and I leave looking like a frizzy mess! I have to go home and redo the style so I look normal again. After I left Trashy Roots and Anna, I came home and my husband asked, "Did you do something different? Color or something? Your hair looks GOOD!" The man is not a big compliment giver, so I KNEW Anna had done a great job! I highly recommend her and can't wait to go back.

- I took a chance and went to Anna Craig, and it paid off!! I was nervous, to say the least , to try a new stylist because of the bad experiences I have had over the years with my curly hair. It was the first time EVER I felt like I went to someone who understood my hair! She did a fantastic job with the cut, color, and style. - After so many years of having hairdressers who didn't get my curly hair, I finally found Anna! It is difficult to find a stylist of her level with the professionalism to match. Anna is extremely knowledgeable about curly hair, the products and trends. I have a cut that looks great whether I blow it straight, diffuse it curly, or just let it air dry. I use to hate my curls, but now I would rather style it curly than blow-dry it straight.
Thanks Anna, you've given my hair new meaning!

- Have tried 3 different "stylists" at this salon. NEVER AGAIN! I kept going back because their bios online seem describe them as experienced and knowledgeable in their specific areas however I have never left satisfied. Anna talks the whole time you're sitting in the chair (about herself) and barely snips here and there. The the "color expert" couldn't understand that lots of thick hair = more than 1 small bowl of hair color and had to stop 3 different times to go mix more color and it was the color SHE wanted not the color we had spoken about. The last girl I tried I went in to get some shape into my hair since I'm growing it out. I have had other stylists able to give me a cut without affecting length however she did not seem to understand so she just gave me a MINOR face frame, trimmed less than an inch from the back and didn't bother touching my bangs. But they all sure can charge $$ SPA prices at the end.

- Anna is the best! She really listens to her clients and makes sure they will be comfortable with their choice. When I wanted to get low lights, she could tell I was a little nervous and started me off slow. Then with each time gave me a little bit more color and a little darker, so I never felt like I was going to go into shock after she was done. I feel confident that if I were to go up to and ask for a new updated style, she would deliver. She is so up to date on all the latest trends and keeps learning more. I know I will never have to have an outdated look and overdone style with her.

- First I would like to say that if it were not for this stylist, I would gladly go back to this salon. I love the look and feel of Trashy Roots Salon. The employees, including Anna are all very nice and very personable. Perhaps if I had known going into the appointment that Anna worked best with curly hair, I would have booked my appointment with someone else. Unfortunately though, I have been waiting for quite some time to write this review. I moved from San Antonio and was unable to travel back and forth to my stylist there at the time. I decided to try Trashy Roots because I consistently heard good things about them. I went in on the day of my appointment and told Anna what I wanted. After showing her numerous pictures, front, back, and sides of my preferred cut, she said she could do it no problem. I left the salon crying. I wore my hair in VERY short side ponytails for literally one year. She messed my hair up so badly I couldn't wear it down. It would not style at all, it was a cut that I had previously and was not a cut that was difficult to style, it was spikey in the back and longer, face framing in the front, or was supposed to be anyway. She butchered my hair. I told her that I preferred razor cuts and she took large chunks of my hair and used thinning shears and cut chunks randomly. When I finally was able to get someone to cut my hair a year later, they could only straighten the cut and then cut it short again to match the missing chunks shortest pieces; it was cut that badly. It took me about a year and a half to recover from that haircut.
I will never forget telling her how important it was to me that my hair look okay and how difficult it was for me to find a stylist I could trust, she agreed with me and told me that she felt that every style that she did for someone was her signature. I still tell people about that haircut, every person I talk to about haircuts I have received, and every time that I get my hair cut. I have never been so upset about someone cutting my hair. I unfortunately do have five email addresses and will submit the same review with each one. I'm sorry Anna but your signature has always stayed with me. I wish I would have known that you don't do straight cuts.

- What makes a stylist truly the best? Is it their professionalism, skill or artistic abilities? Anna Criag is at the top of her field in all of these things and yet their is still something more that sets her apart.
Out of her many clients, I only started going to Anna within the last year. Knowing that I needed something different, stylish and versitile, she instantly knew the kind of cut and color that would work best for me. I absolutely loved my hair then, just as much, if not more now. The amazing thing that was I didn't have a clue what she was she was doing. What's more is that Anna invested time and resources to ensure that her clients learn how to repeat our styles after going home.
What sets Anna apart from most stylists is that she recognizes the need to balance what her clients need and want, even if they do not realize it themselves. Other stylists tend to do what their clients want over taking risks to make their clients really look their best.

- Have been going to see Anna for around 3 years. I have short, grey hair, and she seems to be the only one who can style it the way I like. She colored my hair for awhile too, and that turned out great. She's also a great business woman and seems to keep her salon happy and inviting all the time. I highly recommend her!

- What can I say, she tamed the beast! I've been to many stylists over the years hoping my hair would look the way I see it in my head. Sadly, instead of "Farah", I got "Pharoah". :( Thanks to Anna my head doesn't look like a triangle anymore! She's super-cool and I love her funky salon. I actually picked it for the name and hit the jackpot with Anna! If you don't want to be "Queen of the Nile" anymore, make an appointment with Anna! :)

- I am a closet curly. I have a strong and deep rooted attachment to my flat iron. Anna is helping me with this.
Anna has been my stylist for 2 years now. The longest I have ever been with a stylist. This speaks to her virtuous nature. She has to be, it is the only way she can get though our appointments. I can be a challenging client. Anna demonstrates all Seven Virtues at every appointment.
Temperance - (restraint, patience) I show up at every appt. with a picture of a girl with straight hair and proceed to ask Anna to make me look just like the girl in the picture. Anna very patiently describes how we can modify the look for my VERY thick curly hair that is NOTHING like the girls in the picture.
Diligence - (decisive work ethic) Anna is always ready right on time for each appointment.
Patience - (Forbearance and endurance through moderation) See description of my appointments in Temperance.
Kindness - (Having positive outlooks and cheerful demeanor) Anna tells me at every appointment how beautiful my curly hair is. Then I ask her to flat iron it please.
Humility - (Modest behavior, selflessness) Anna never brags about her super glossy perfect straight hair.
Charity - (kindness towards all others) Anna's salon participates in fundraising every year for a local charity. It requires the sacrifice of time and money for the salon but gives so much back to the community. The salon is also responsible to the environment by using "Green" products.
Chastity - Anna is always appropriately and stylishly dressed.

I never feel pressured into buying products or trying a style I am not comfortable with like I have at other salons. - I have naturally curly hair and have HATED it my entire life. When I was in my early twenties the stylist I was going to introduced my to using a straightner on my hair. I ran out, bought a Chi, and start going straight. About 1 year ago I switched salons and started going to Trashy Roots. Anna started cutting my hair and kept mentioning DevaCurl and that I should try it. I resisted and told her I have crappy curls and just wanted to keep using my Chi. Well this summer I finally gave in and let her use the DevaCurl on me. I was impressed!! I have never had my hair look that nice without having to use a ton of gel and product. I bought the product and started using every once in a while. I finally got tired of using the Chi and started going curly all the time. Now I can't believe I waited so long to listen to Anna. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to curly hair. She always gives me great tips on how to handle my hair and is the first stylist that has ever really embraced my curls and helped me see that being naturally curly really is awesome and that I am lucky to have curls. I have since refered my mother and sister to Anna and they both love her. She knows what she is doing and I look forward to seeing what else Anna learns and can teach me about my natural curls!!

- What I love about Anna is her ability to make me feel comfortable and relaxed during my visit, all while giving me great hair at every visit. She listens to what I want and does that each time and I leave feeling like I look great and like I got what I asked for... which is something I've found is very rare. I hate leaving a salon and feeling like I just paid someone to do something that they didn't do. She's never left me feeling that way. Every time I leave, my cut/color/style all look great! That's why I've been a regular customer of hers for over 3 years. Also, the salon is a very cool place and I'm a regular working mom and wife and I see customers of all types coming into the salon... and I appreciate feeling like I belong and not "out of place". - So, I have to agree with everyone else that goes to trashy roots as well as a client of Anna Craig. I believe that shes the best! I guess there is nothing else to explain how amazing she is and how much I have seen her grow as a single stylist to being an owner of a popular salon. It has been an honor to be apart of her life and have seen the salon grow.
Now, When it comes to hair she is by far amazing and no words can explain how well she does with my hair personally. I never have to tell her what I want. My personality is free spirited and I allow her to color, cut and do much of anything with my hair. Every time I leave the salon I am happy and LOVE my hair. Not only does Anna just do my hair she does my mom, my old boss, a few of my old co workers. I now live in Houston Texas and still drive 3 hours to have Anna do my hair ever 2 or 3 months.
Her as a person (which comes into play when being a stylist) is amazing. Shes out going, cares, and wants to know all about you. She never complains, shares her life and love what she does! She makes my experience with hair and with her unexplainable.
I ALWAYS recommend her and help promote her and would do anything for her! Shes just THE BEST!

- I have to start by saying that Anna Craig @ Trashy Roots Salon, Round Rock Tx is the BEST!!! I had driven by the salon sometime last year and decided to make an appointment. Anna was the only stylist open on such short notice. The day of my appointment came (might I add I was 9 months pregnant so my hair was going nuts!!) I wanted a cut that would be easy to maintain with 3 little kids at home. She knew just what to do and did a fantastic job on my hair. Anna also was a delight to sit with, we had plenty to talk about and she focused her attention on me and my needs the whole time. So as a Christmas present this year my husband got me a gift card to Trashy Roots and I cant wait to see Anna again especially now that I want a different style and color all together, I know she will ROCK it!!!

- We all know how hard it is to find a salon and hairstylist that we can trust with our hair. It's a very personal and emotional decision to allow someone access to cut/style/design a part of our body. Yes, hair grows back, but it takes time, and let's face it, our hair is front and center, so a bad cut/color tends to make us feel hideous for a while! So we tend to be hesitant to hand over that kind of power to someone we don't know without confirmation in their abilities.
My hairstylist is Anna Craig @ Trashy Roots & Salon. I met her a few years ago when she did our hair for my sister-in-laws wedding. She's been my stylist every since that day! I have mid-length VERY curly hair that has thinned due to pregnancies and is dry and frizzy depending on the weather/time of year. I have absolute confidence in allowing Anna complete access and free reign on my hair. I have I typically wear my hair curly, but on occasion will straighten it. I want layers, but not too many and not so blatant. I know that Anna helps with decisions far more complex than this, but when it comes to my cut, she knows how to cut and style my hair so that it looks great curly or straight. She is careful with her layers (doesn't make me have a triangle head) and she thins me out so I'm not so poofy when my hair is dry. She also suggested products that helped tremendously with my thinning and dry/frizzy hair. ANNA IS A CURLY GIRL'S BEST FRIEND!!!! Thank-you Anna!

- I started going to Anna about 2 years ago when I was living in Austin. I NEVER in all my life ever got compliments on my hair. It happens all the time since Anna has cut my hair. About 10 months ago, I moved 100 miles away from her salon. I decided with a new baby, that's too far to drive to get my hair cut. I tried 3 different "salons" in my area to try to find a great cut. I was gapped up each time.Needless to say, the compliments stopped. I am a new mom......this is when I need compliments most! I was so sad. I had decided to just let my hair grow. Finally, my hubs helped me come up with a plan. I get my hair cut on days when he is off. He keeps the baby. Mama has a day to herself in Austin! YAY! Trashy Roots is an awesome funky salon. Very comfortable. ALL of the staff is very friendly. I will never go anywhere else!

As a distribution consultant with over 200 accounts it says a lot that I am exclusive to not only a salon but to Anna Craig. She is always open to education, is a pravana educator, and Deva certified specialist. When asked about my hair by customers or random people I ALWAYS refer them to Anna Craig at Trashy Roots. Best hair cut, color, curly specialist and all around great person.
No one deserves this credit more than Anna.

Anna has a magical touch whether it is cutting, coloring, high lighting, low lighting, styling or recommending the perfect product. She has done them all for me. I have curly hair and I have not been able to find someone who could cut my hair the way I want it since I lived in Miami. The stylist that cut my hair in Florida is a Deva stylist. I told Anna exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and she did exactly what I asked, including the color. I am so glad that I found a stylist that understands curly hair and how to work with it. - I have wavy hair which i never knew how to style and would just leave it loose. I went to Ana to see if a Deva cut and style would do the trick...guess what, I have never had such beautifully defined curls....love Ana and Deva for making my hair look amazing. The best part is thatits easy to do.

- Anna is amazing! She helped me unlock the true potential of my curls with a cute new Deva cut, stylish highlights, and an arsenal of knowledge and product advice that I had never received before. The best part is that she taught me how to recreate my style at home, and it still continues to look great.
The salon took a bit of searching around the shopping center to find, but once I did it was definitely worth it.

- Best color and cut I have received! I was very impressed from start to finish with my experience at Trashy Roots salon. For the first time ever I have left a salon feeling totally happy about my hair. My hair has more body and bounce than ever. My color is great and was exactly what I asked for. Anna actually took time to have a long consult with me to understand exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this salon to anyone straight, wavy, curly or kinky. Great work- great customer service and great communication.

- I went to Trashy Roots Salon and got my first Deva Cut from Sara. I was a little anxious because curly girls know when you go to a salon they always want to treat you like you have straight hair! Sara was awesome! She told me exactly what she was going to do and made me feel comfortable. She took her time and meticulously examined every single curl! She never once touched my hair with a brush or comb! My curls were in heaven. Then she did the Deva wash and condition and style. She told me which Deva products I needed. I left the salon loving my hair for the first time ever thanks to Sara!

- Trashy Roots was AWESOME for my wavy hair. Anna did a Deva Cut on me and it came out greater than great. She was super sweet the entire time and explained every single step, along with its benefit. Their pink walls and black and pink floor also add a great touch to the haircut experience. They are a great salon and I look forward to many more visits with them!
