- I had the most awful curly hair EVER! I know, I know, all of us curly girls think that their hair is the worst, but really, mine was so ridiculous, unhealthy and unmanageable. I have tight, kinky, fine hair and LOTS of it. So, here’s my story… I had been going to the same salon for years (no names, sorry). I had been relaxing it, coloring it and basically getting bad haircuts. Truth be told, I wasn’t taking care of it either. I wasn’t being diligent about conditioning or getting frequent haircuts. Of course, I have since learned that more frequent haircuts would actually help my curls grow, but let’s face it, curly girls hate getting their hair cut. Come on, admit it, you know you’re the same way. Anyway, to continue… I was going to d.Sabrina Salon for my manicures (oh – that’s another story – but that I will post on yellowpages.com – if you want to have the best pedi/mani you ever had in your life!). The owner, Sabrina, has a sister Mia who is a hair stylist extraordinaire and one of her talents is specializing in curly hair (both her and her sister have curly hair as well). Mia is a great girl. She is funny, outgoing, just in general and an absolute doll. She would always come by and chat with me. I knew she wanted to get her hands on my hair, you could just tell, but she was very professional and would never diss a fellow hair stylist. I would always check her out doing someone else’s curls, secretly wondering if my hair could ever be as beautiful as the person sitting in her chair. One day I finally had the courage to ask her what she thought of my hair. Did she think it could look better and dare I say, grow long? I told her my hair CAN’T grow long and she said that if I gave her one year where I did everything she said to do in terms of hair health (she has lots of good advice about other things as well), my hair will be long and beautiful. Of course I thought she was a little crazy because I knew my hair got to a certain length and would just break off, however, I wasn’t happy where I was, so I decided to take the plunge even though I was terrified at the prospect of someone new cutting my hair. Let’s face it, we all have had bad haircuts that have traumatized us for months, even years! I’m still pissed at my Mother for sending me for a haircut when I was twelve that ended up making me look like a young Michael Jackson, something a twelve year old Jewish girl DOES NOT want to look like. Finally… A year has come and gone and I can honestly say that my hair has never looked more beautiful. I go for haircuts regularly and care for my hair as prescribed by my hair guru, Mia. My curls have never looked more amazing, healthy and LONG! I literally was missing hair at the bottom when I started with Mia. You could see through it and my hair on top of my head was just a puffy mess. But now it is GORGEOUS! I love my curls and I owe it all to Mia. She really cares about what she is doing and cares about her clients. She also understands that every head of curls is unique and needs a cut that is tailored to that person. I have to say I am truly a believer! I wholeheartedly recommend Mia to take care of your curls. I won’t trust anyone else to cut my hair ever again! She is also one of the funniest people I have ever met. Bonus. :)

- Naturally Curly Girls, it's time to break up with your current stylist and go to Mia. I met with Mia a week ago and the change in my hair is like night and day. I am recovering from a 'bad' cut I got 6 months ago (we all know w/ curls... that could take forever to come back). However, I consulted with Mia, she assessed my problem areas and although could only trim minimal parts to try to even me out, she was able to coach me on how to do my hair, handle my curls and deal with my 'growing out' phase. I am so happy I went to her. I feel so much better about my hair already. And since going to her, my hair has never been so soft and looks healthy. I received compliments on it all week. So if your out there,looking for a savior for your curls, go see Mia. It is worth every bit of it.

- I had my hair cut today by Mia and it has never looked better. For the first time in years, I actually like my curly hair. Mia took a lot of time showing me how to use products and manage my hair. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can make it look like she did. However, she has made herself very available should I have any problems so I am not worried. I very much recommend her and the salon. It is a very relaxing, friendly place to go. And finally a stylist who understands how to make curly hair (and my is very curly, fizzy, kinky -- the worst type of curly hair) beautiful.

- Mia gave me my first curly cut, and I have now had my hair cut by her three times. She was excellent at demonstrating how to style my hair myself, and though it never looks quite as good when I do it, it comes out way better than it used to! Every time I leave the salon, I get compliments on my hair from friends and strangers. She is great! Also, Jason at D Sabrina is an amazing colorist, so you should book a color appointment with him before your curly cut. You won't regret it!

- Mia is amazing!! I'd been to another curly salon and was not happy with it at all so I decided to call Mia because of the reviews on this site. It was the best decision I could have made. She spent a lot of time with me and showed me how to maintain it on my own. I went for my first haircut back in May and it still looks great. Not only is she super talented, she is a wonderful person. She clearly cares about what she does and the whole experience was great. Before Mia, I straightened my hair ALL the time. Now, I wear it curly MOST of the time. I won't be going anywhere else! Thanks Mia!

- Mia is the best! She gave me a terrific cut and told me everything she was doing. She went through the entire process of treating my curls and made them look fantastic. two days later, I went back and she led me through the process again, helping me with each step so that I could make my hair look almost as good as she did. It's been a month and I am thrilled with the way my curls look. They are silky, controlled, and frizz free. Heaven!

- Mia is a wonderful stylist and person. After many years of cutting my thick hair short or styling it straight I decided to go curly. I experimented with different products and then I came across your website and reviews for Mia. I called her and set-up a consultation and was amazed at the time she spent with explaining what she would do to improve how it looked and recommended products and how to use them. She has curly hair herself and uses the same products. After seeing my usual stylist, I compared notes and decided to try Mia. I have not regretted my decision. She takes her time and explains what she is doing and my hair always looks great. I have had people stop and tell me my curls look great and ask who does my hair, even people with straight hair! If you are looking for a great stylist for curly hair don’t hesitate to call Mia. Like me, you will be happy with the results.

- I am so happy to have found Mia through this website. She is the answer to my (curls') prayers! I'm old enough to have had many stylists in the past (some fabulous, others not so much), and I can saythat Mia is the finest, most gifted styler of curls I've had the pleasure to know. She is a tremendously talented artist--Mia really gets hair--and my locks have grown lovelier for her interventions. She's also giving me confidence, showing me that I can do things with my hair that I didn't think I could (ex: let it grow!). - Mia is a genius when it comes to curly hair….she works her magic so that my hair falls into curls instead of poofing into a frizzy mess. Mia works with the natural curl and texture of my hair instead of trying to make my hair do something it’s not meant to do. Plus, because Mia is very concerned with the health and condition of hair, the hair color she uses is the gentlest available. My hair has never been healthier!

- Mia is the best thing that EVER happened to my hair! After having kids, my hair just would not curl. It seemed to be stuck in the middle of curly and straight. After 13 years of going to the same sytlist, it just got worse and worse. I was so desperate, I had her perm my hair. That was the biggest mistake! Finally, I was recommended to Mia. It took about 6 months to fix all the bad haircuts I had, but from the first day Mia cut my hair, it already looked 100% better. I have been going to her for two years now and my hair looks the best it ever has. I never have a problem with my hair not curling anymore. She is always up on the new styles, trends and products. I feel like she took 10 years off my life (and my hair). I'm so glad she was recommended to me and now I'm passing it on to all of you!

- I cannot say enough about Mia. She is absolutely wonderful. I went to Mia after having had not 1 but 2 very bad haircuts. She was reccomended to me by a friend who was already a client of Mia's. When I went to Mia she told I had a "diva" cut. Let me just say I didn't look like a diva, I looked like a poodle. When I met with Mia for the first time she assured me that it was definitely fixable, but it would take some time. I have had 3 haircuts with Mia since then and my hair looks a million times better. I no longer look like a poobdle. I can actually feel comfortable wearing my hair down again. I am so thankful that I followed my friends advice and went to Mia. She is a wonderful stylist.

- After 37 years, I have finally found someone to cut my curly hair. I always thought that I had a pretty good curly cut until I met Mia. After pregnancy, my hair changed completely and felt I needed a new sytlist. After checking out your website, I found Mia. Not only was she knowledgable and professional, she was also funny, warm and kind. She truly understands curly hair like no other stylist. She takes her time and really gets to know you before she cuts your hair. I love my curls! I will never go to anyone else again!

- If you have curly hair, Mia is the person to go to... Mia gives great haircuts and color. She is an absolute sweetie, and since she has curly hair herself, she understands the struggles most of us face day to day. I have had my hair cut by what some consider the "top salons" and I can honestly say they don't have a fifth of the talent that Mia has when it comes to dealing with curly hair. I will never go anywhere else!!!!!

- Mia is great! She has curly hair herself, so she understands it as a hairstylist and a client. She listened to what I wanted and made it better. You can clearly see how much she enjoys cutting hair, and she is definitely very talented and knowledgeable. She was also able to recommend great products and show me how to get a beautiful head of curls at home. I love my curly hair again! I will go back to her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a great haircut....especially for curly hair!
