- Leslie Ellen is a great curly-hair stylist!
After embracing my natural biracial 3b/3c curly hair in 2007, I have seen my fair share of curl cutting "experts". Leslie Ellen has saved my style and my sanity!
I went through the devachan phase, and ended up with the same cut as every other person who has been to devachan. I went to another 'expert' and ended up with triangle-head. Hair grows back, right? So I stayed with this expert a few years until I decided to try a new color and ended up with terrible, streaky platinum highlights in my dark brown hair.
Enter Leslie Ellen in 2012; she was able to get a more natural color and give me a great cut that drew out my curls. It was curly-bob like, but better and my curls responded very well to it. Every time I see her, I end up with a lovely cut with a great shape that differs from other curly girls. The cuts grow out really well, and still look good on the rare occasion that I straighten it. She has a peach of a personality and the salon location is pretty accessible by public transportation. If you want a great curly cut, that grows out well AND looks good straight, Leslie Ellen is your lady!

I have been fortunate to have Leslie Ellen Abbate as my hair stylist for 9 years now! She cuts, styles, and applies color and HiLites! She has done Keratin treatments on my hair also. She is a fabulous hair stylist, who puts her heart and soul into her work! She even calls you after you leave to make sure you are still loving that beauty she turned you into. Great experience and highly recommended!

- In a word, Leslie is FANTASTIC!! I've been going to her for a few months now and honestly my hair has never looked better! I have curly hair that never looks the same from one day to the next. I don't know what she did, but once Leslie got a hold of my hair it completely changed! Every day is a good hair day, my hair actually has a consistent look and I understand how to style it and put products in my hair. I have gotten numerous compliments on my hair and they keep coming even 2 months after a cut! I have been to very pricey stylists and salons but none have made me look as good as Leslie. Her expertise for cut as well as color has won me over and I am now a loyal customer. Everytime I see her we discuss how I'm feeling about the cut and color, what options I have and her recommendations. She's not afraid to tell me what she thinks about my color, and her expert option is always appreciated and quite frankly RIGHT! I highly recommend Leslie, she'll convert you after 1 visit!

- After following the same hair designer from salon to salon for many years, when he moved yet again, I tried a new person at one of the well-known "curly hair salons," but it just wasn't for me. Not to mention how absurd the prices were. Then, about a month ago, I gave Leslie a try and I couldn't be happier. She knew exactly what was wrong with both the cut and color I had, and she immediately went to work fixing it. While it took me a few days to get used to the new look, I have never been happier with my hair. It is SO much more stylish; SO much easier to take care of; and SO much less frizzy than it was before .Leslie is also "low pressure': there's no pressure to buy any specific products, adding to your bill, as there is at the big curly hair salons. I will definitely be going back to Leslie, and I'd highly recommend her to anyone who wants a fresh take on their hair.

- Leslie has been cutting, and coloring, and styling my hair since the beginning of time!(Well since she started doing hair 20 years ago)This woman is amazing! She has beautified me so many times. My hair always looks gorgeous. My haircuts and color are always unique and creative. I must be honest, I have tried others and it only ended with me running back to Leslie to fix me. If I could give her a 100 star rating or more, I would!! GO GET YOUR HAIR DONE WITH LESLIE!! IT IS THE BEST MONEY YOU WILL SPEND ON YOURSELF EVER!!!

- I went to Leslie Ellen back in July 2011, was thrilled with the result the day of the cut, am still happy with my hair today, and yet, can't wait to go see her again in October. Not only did Leslie do an amazing job on my pesky, type 3A hair (which she somehow managed to get fabulously straight), but she was such a sweetheart...so easy to talk to and easy to trust. I would absolutely recommend her to any woman who has struggled with her curly hair and is seeking a new curly hair specialist in NYC.

- I've been to both Devachan and Ouidad, and Leslie Ellen outdid them both! She took the time to find out what my hair concerns were and to come up with a cut that would suit me and my lifestyle. She really understood what I wanted, and my hair looks wonderful! I highly recommend her!

- Leslie has consistently given me the best haircuts ever. I've been going to her for over 2 years. People who haven't seen me in a while constantly tell me what a great haircut I have. Even my daughter loves and I don't often get compliments from her. Leslie has also Keratined my hair, and the first time it lasted for over 6 months. She is generous with her time and aims for perfection. And she really does know how to change your life with a haircut and other treatments. I adore her and recommend her highly.

- I've been going to Leslie for several years now, and I've never left disappointed. She really knows curly hair, and styles my 3c hair so well, that I always get compliments when I go out afterwards. She's patient and kind, and is really into making the client happy. My hair is definitely lucky to have her.

- I have curly type 3b hair and I have to say that Leslie Ellen, who has been my stylist for close to ten years, really knows how to manage and style my hair! I have gone from extremely long, to shoulder-length styles and she has given me the right cut each time. Aside from behind friendly and easy going, Leslie knows everything there is to know about properly styling curly and wavy hair. Whether it's how to cut it, what styling product to use, or styling method to follow in order to maintain healthy, beautiful, naturally curly hair, Leslie is an expert who has more love and passion for what she does than any other stylist I've ever met.
