- Salon 17 is small, personable, talented and friendly! Michael, the owner of the salon, made sure to make me feel comfortable right away and then provided to tell me that I was too short to have such long, thick, curly hair. It was what I needed to hear and we proceeded to chop off 5 inches, still leaving it long and lovely. His cut was fabulous! The layers made my hair naturally fall in a nice pattern and I immediately felt at ease while he was cutting. He listened to what I wanted and understood right away that I have a no-muss no-fuss approach to styling my hair and I needed a cut that would allow it to look great after just hopping out of the shower.
Michael is Ouidad trained and this was my first time trying the cut. It was a lot better than Deva styling, it felt like he wasn't trying to push products on me, but rather genuinely trying to cut my hair so that it would look great all the time. It's been only 6 weeks since my cut, but I already want to go back. If not to get a hair cut, then to see what wallpaper he chose to put in the bathroom after asking the advice of every woman sitting in the small one-room studio.
