- I went last week Friday after work for a consultation with Dixie.(Booked online) First thing I noticed was that the place was nice a "airy". The teal blues and white really looked lovely together. As I walked in, everyone turned and welcomed me. All the ladies extended their hand with a warm handshake. Dixie escourted me to her chair and we got to talking. I felt truly listened to, as I explained my hair journey over the last few months. She give me some positive feedback on what I was already doing right and some suggestions without pushing any products or services on me. I felt so comfortable with her that I asked if I could stay and get a BC from her right then and there. As she didn't have another client coming, she was able to take me. After some much needed cutting and TLC, I left feeling great! I even got some samples and a free towel.

- I have been looking for a hairdresser for the longest time. Frankly, I had put that idea on the back-burner because of the fact that every time I would go for a haircut it was a disaster. Yes, curly hair can be tricky. Comes Trudy and Curl Bar Beauty Salon. What a blessing! The Salon is clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. The clients are smiling too! Trudy is very attentive, passionate and talented. She cut and handled my crazy curly hair like a pro. Seriously, I came for a haircut and it ended up being a total make over. I am so happy to have found this salon. I recommend this place for every curly girl out there. It’s worth every penny. Thanks again Trudy for my new beautiful hair!

- I've been going to Curl Bar since they opened in downtown Toronto. I was SO happy to find a curly hair salon that gave me ultimate service, but didn't charge me an arm and a leg! Karlene has been my favourite stylist for years - she used to take care of my hair at another Toronto salon, and I was so excited to reconnect with her at Curl Bar. Trudie is also amazing with my hair, and her knowledge of hair health and styling is incredible. Not only do the Curl Bar ladies know how to properly care for and style hair, but they also have created a uniquely positive and welcoming environment at the salon. I always feel good going to Curl Bar, and I always leave looking good too! I've seen them masterfully style all types of hair, but especially if you're a curly - Curl Bar is the spot for you!

- I usually like to try out a salon at least three times before providing a review, but my experience thus far has at Curl Bar has earned my kudos. I had my naturally curly hair trimmed and conditioned by Karlene on the two occasions I've visited by and she does not disappoint. She provided some great hair care and styling tips, especially helpful as I made my way through post-partum breakage! The products recommended were great, and she helped to correct my usage of one when I expressed some concern over its effectiveness - now I am able to access its full benefits and am happier than ever with the results. I look forward to my third and subsequent visits with Karlene and Curl Bar!

- Karlene has been cutting, styling, and let's face it, taming my hair for about 5 years now. We (me AND my hair) would be lost without her. When I first went to see Karlene my hair was growing in a reverse triangle down my back and the front pieces had lost their curl. I had been struggling to find someone who could help me grow out my hair. Now my curls are springy and voluminous and past my shoulders! Karlene always takes the time to chat with you about your hair, how it's feeling, how the last cut has been growing out etc. She doesn't start cutting or styling until she has a clear idea of what you're looking for and how she's going to achieve it. She always has a plan. Karlene makes sure to show you how know how to style your hair before you leave the salon so you look your best every day. She is my go-to for any occasion, including my wedding last year! and Her positive energy and infectious laugh make each trip to the salon a pleasure! I recommend Karlene and Curl Bar 110%. The salon is bright, cheery and conveniently located in downtown TO and a visit to see Karlene is sure to brighten your day and bring you many good hair days in the future!

- The Curl Bar Salon works for me on many different levels. Firstly, I LOVE Karlene. She is wonderful, communicative, professional and a hair Educator! I have very tight curls and have been natural for over 20 years yet the knowledge that she imparts about my haircare is invaluable. I love her approach and her ability to explain techniques and new products in an easy to understand manner. Secondly, the salon specializes in naturally curly hair. Surprisingly, It's not easy to find a salon within the GTA where natural hair is given priority or even cared for. Thirldy, I love the salon's modern approach to appointment booking and the staff's adherence to appointment time therefore respecting their client's time! I'm a busy woman and I appreciate that 10:00 am means 10:00 am. After literally bumping into this salon over the summer and trying them out a few times, I can guarantee you that I'm impressed and will continue to frequent their shop. I'm not impressed easily and I applaud Trudi and Karlene in making the salon work. Fantastic job ladies. Keep it up. Tracey Lake

- This is best salon I have been to. My hair looks and feels incredible!! I was so excited to walk out of the salon and show off my new hair. Karlene and Trudy made me so welcome and comfortable and really know what they are doing. These are real people working with real hair making people look real. Karlene was so full of valuable information about how to look after my hair and style it. I am so excited to go back to this salon and take my mother with me as well. I have nothing negative to say about this experience and I am so happy I've finally found a place that works for me.

- I can not trust anyone with my curls....Karlene was so nice and excited about my hair. She really took the time to listen to my concerns and understand what i really wanted. I have yet to wash and set my hair myself as its only been 1 day.... but i just love the cut. I got some great highlights as well.... She gave me tons of tips for taking care of my curls, trying to get the best volume and how to ensure that they get the moisture they need in order to be able to curl properly. So far so good and i had a good experience. If your hesitant, just give them a call and they will take the take to listen to your concerns, there website is pretty good as well.

- I've decided to go natural, but to help with this process I thought wearing weaves would ease with the transition. I found Karlene and I couldn't be happier that I did. Her weave work is top notch. She does a perfect, natural bang and makes her own closure. No one believes I'm wearing a weave. She cuts and conditions my natural hair so when I'm ready to rock my natural it will be strong and ready to go. Thanks Karlene and Curl Bar for your work. I can't speak for everyone but you've helped me feel beautiful and confidence.

- Ms Karlene Valentine has given me the best curly girl haircuts EVER. I'm constantly getting compliments about my curls and style - for the past 3 years I've been seeing her! I carry her cards around with me so I can hand them out to the other curly hair ladies who approach me - "who cuts your hair?". My two sisters and my mom swear by this gem too - and so will you!
