Even though I had read all of Dianne's reviews here, I was still nervous walking into her salon for my first Deva cut last week. I have gone to the same stylist for 38 years (yes, you read that correctly), and I have always worn my hair in a one-length bob that varies from super short to about chin length. The style has worked well for me, but over the past few years, I have been pining for the curly hair I had as a child. I thought it was gone forever... until I walked into Dianne's studio! Dianne is an amazing stylist. She took her time in studying my hair, cutting it dry and styling it. She talked me through the entire process and taught me about curly-hair products and how to use them. I had a terrible experience with layers years ago, and have stayed far away from them ever since, so for me, getting a Deva cut was a radical move. And even though I was VERY happy with the results, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the same look at home. Was I ever wrong! Because of Dianne's talent, my hair looks great AND is super-easy to maintain. For me to be this thrilled with a haircut that is so different from anything I have ever had is a testament to Dianne's skill. I would recommend Dianne Nola to anyone looking for a specialist in curly hair. She does outstanding work, her prices are reasonable, and she creates a wonderful atmosphere in the salon with her professionalism and upbeat personality! Thank you, Dianne!

Dianne is simply the best! I was terrified to have my hair cut. Usually when I do I end up going home and fixing it. Which leads to more cutting, which leads to my hair not growing very much and it already takes a long time for it to grow at all. Most people don't know how to cut my hair. I have very fine 3b hair. My hair was a disaster when I went to see Dianne. She spent 2 1/2 hours with me!!! I couldn't believe it! And the cut was so cute. It was almost maintenance free. I spend less time with my hair now and less blow drying time! But most importantly, I had no desire to "fix' it. I even looked hard to see if there was anything out of sorts with the cut and nothing. It's been about 2 weeks now and still no need for fixing! Dianne is a true gem!

I’ve told my friends for decades, “In my next life I’m coming back tall with curly hair!” Now that Dianne is taking care of my hair I don’t have to wait until my next lifetime to enjoy having “naturally” curly hair. I tortured myself and my hair stylists for years getting “perms.” I thought I had it made when after chemotherapy 15 years ago my hair came back curly … but it didn’t last more than a couple of years … or so I thought. Even before Dianne became a “Deva Curl” specialist she worked wonders with my hair. But since she took the training my hair is as curly if not curlier than right after it first grew back. Now I tell my friends “In my next life I’m coming back as a tall person!” Thanks Dianne for making my dreams come true in this lifetime.

Dianne has cut and managed my hair for about 15 years. When I get compliments on my curls (even on public transit), I don't just smile and say Thany you! I tell them to go see Dianne, it's all her doing. Dianne knows how to get the best results out of my hair type and produces a great cut that maximizes my wavy, curly hair. My hair has changed over the years and Dianne has always managed to keep my cut looking great. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their hair style.

I am so happy to have found Dianne, she has cut my hair twice already and in both occasions my hair turned out amazing and I say it with no doubt that for as long as I live in San Francisco I will be cutting my hair with her. I have always been afraid of experimenting different cuts because I feel it's so easy to mess up a curly hair and make you look like a mushroom cap (this happened to me right before I come to Dianne). I found Dianne while searching online for a Deva Cut, her saloon is ver close to my house so I decided to give it a try and it was one of best decisions I have ever made. She is very knowledgeable about curly hair and will take her time to talk to you and understand what is that you want. I have recommended her to two other friends that are now in love with their curls and with Dianne's work as well.

Dianne has been cutting my hair since 2006. Even after I left SF and moved 65 miles north I still return to have her trim this long curly hair of mine- simply because I can't find anyone else who understands curly hair the way she does. Since I was a kid I've had serious frustrations dealing with bad hair cuts and hating curly hair!! I found myself embarrassed and sad on far too many occasions. With a sense of relief I know I can count on a good cut, and one that lasts, when I get out of Dianne's chair. Consistently, for 7 years and counting.

For years I struggled to like my curly hair and then I found Dianne! She is an amazingly talented stylist although I really like to think of her as a magician. She miraculously figured out how to cut my hair in a way that promoted the curl, minimized the frizz and shaped it so that it complimented my face and looked as good on day #2 (after sleeping on it and constant exposure to SF’s never-ending wind) as day #1! Sadly, I relocated from the Bay Area to Seattle 6 years ago and have yet to find a stylist that comes close to Dianne’s level of skill and knowledge. I have seriously tried out 10 different stylists over the past 6 years and no one compares (and I even got a really unfortunate mullet once)! Whereas most stylists seem to spend 10-15 minutes cutting my hair, Dianne spends a good 40-45 minutes studying, cutting, assessing and refining. Every time I return to visit the Bay Area, I book an appointment with Dianne to get my hair back to its perfect cut. And I’m really not exaggerating!
