Hi Curlies! Paula has closed this salon and opened a new one--Bloom Salon # 212 255 9355. She can't wait to start working on your curls!

I never had control of my hair until Paula started cutting it 8 years ago. She is very in tune with not only your hair, but your life. I've never walked in and said, "Let's do this." I have trusted her choice from day one and she has styled my hair perfectly for every phase of my life. She is a total doll and having curly hair herself, she gets it. I often get asked in public who does my hair and I'm always more than proud to tell them, "Paula, she's totally worth it!" She really is a hair goddess!

I, too, went to Kim for years. But then she went and won DesignStar, moved to LA and made her dreams come true- so who could blame her! I started going to Paula, the owner and she is, an absolute doll. I couldn't believe how quickly she began to recognize me and ask me follow up questions from whatever story I told her the last time I was there! Anyway, it's a small, friendly neighborhood salon and they are great, very reasonable (for nyc) and knowledgeable about hair.

Unfortunately, Kim is no longer at Insitu. However, Paula, the owner, is also a magnificently talented curly hair stylist. She's fun and funny and interested in knowing how you're enjoying your hair as well as the rest of your life. I watched her cutting technique and realized that she has a way of cutting little snips into each lock of hair, which she explains as helping the curl to...curl! I'm extremely happy with her, to put it mildly. Ellen in NYC

As I began letting my hair grow out, i.e. it got curlier and curlier, my previous stylist seemed to be at a loss. Luckily I found Kim at Insitu. She's lively, curious, and completely knowledgeable about curly hair since she is one herself! After asking about my "goal" for my hair she told me my hair was very dry and had lots of split ends (it's highlighted). After a good conditioning, Kim gave me a great cut and lots of suggestions on how to care for it. I've gotten compliments from strangers on the streets of New York!

This was my first visit in hopes to maintain my curly hair that was actually profound. It was evident by the warm atmosphere that I was in good hands but the icing on the cake for me was to know my stylist has been there with her own curly hair. I was given a structured cut that has since gave me rock star status no matter what I put or do with it. I am extremely grateful that I can be curly and straight and still look marvelous!! I never felt so in control over my bad hair days than now. I can't wait to go back and share with Kim my kodak moments.;>
