I had my first appointment with Katie and I'm very happy with everything. After numerous terrible haircuts, the last one I left my prior salon in tears because I was so mad at the way the stylist cut my hair, I was ver apprehensive about going to someone new. When I went in Katie and I talked about my hair, what I liked, what I didn't like about it, how I usually style, what I was hoping to achieve, etc. It was really nice to have someone listen to my frustrations! After she washed my hair she took some time to move it around and play with it to see how it fell. In the past I usually would end up leaving the prior salons with my hair straight ironed. I don't straight iron my hair so this was really frustrating. This time I left with a great cut and a SASSY head of curls! You rock Katie! Thank you so much.

AMAZING is the only word that can describe Wrobyn and her salon. I read all of the reviews on nc.com before finally deciding to take a chance. After all of the horrible haircuts I've had in my life, I figured what could this hurt? I'd either take home another bad haircut or be extremely pleased and I'm so glad to report that it was the latter emotion I left with. The initial consultation is very worth it. Wrobyn took her time in TALKING to me and asking me what I wanted. I took pictures of a couple of curly hairstyles that I really adored and she was very honest in her opinion on whether or not she thought it would complement me. We decided on a happy medium of the picture and my head of curls :-) It was the FIRST time ever that I'd received compliments on a CURLY haircut because most times people notice it's shorter, but not necessarily cut into a style. She used great products (all non-sulfate) and asked what my styling regimen is and more importantly, she didn't try to sell me on anything as she REALLY understands that curly hair isn't the same across the board and what works for one curly may not work for another. She also fixed a color disaster and I left with beautiful chocolate milk colored highlights. She worked with me on using the clips to help add volume to the crown (which is something I just haven't perfected, lol). The salon was clean and very nice. She takes the time to find out what it is that YOU want from the haircut and she gave me exactly what I asked for. I couldn't have been any happier. I have just made my 2nd appointment for a trim and color and will be seeing Katie Camp since Wrobyn isn't working on weekends any more. I am excited as the reviews here for Katie are great. I would and have recommended The Palms Salon to anyone with curly hair who is looking for a great cut with a stylist who LISTENS and delivers. In you're in Oklahoma City, a visit to this salon is a must!

I started going to the Palms when I graduated from college. I had almost completely given up on my hair ever looking good. Katie Camp is my stylist, but every person in this salon is amazing. They are friendly and showed my how a good cut makes all the difference. They also have really guided me with tips to help get the most out of my hair. I am now completely in love with my hair and rarely have bad hair days and it is all thanks to this wonderful place. Thanks Palms!

I absolutely love Wrobyn. The first time I went to her is the first time since my hair went curly that I left a salon happy. I'm even starting to experiment with new hairstyles since I know she'll tell me whether she thinks styles will work with my curls and styling skills. Before now, I'd had the same basic haircut for about 10 years since it was the easiest for other stylists to get somewhat right. At the first appointment, she took time to look at my hair, talk to me about how I styled it, what products I used, and how I wanted my hair to look. After the cut, she showed me how to use the duckbill clips and gave me some other styling ideas. I love that the salon is sulfate-free and I can pick up most of my products there if I forget to make a curlmart order in time. My hair has never looked better! I'm calling this week to make my next appointment.

I read about the Palms here on Naturally Curly and wanted to try it out. Any help bringing out my waves is a big help. Katie was extremely friendly and full of helpful tips and ideas about my hair. For the first time ever in a salon, she actually looked at my hair and talked with me about it before doing anything with it. It wasn't super curly walking out of the salon but it's been much easier to work with and seems to be growing out well. I was very happy with my experience and will be back.

I loved her! Her entire salon staff is trained in curly hair and the products are all sulfate-free and awesome! When I went to Wrobyn, I was so frustrated with other hairdressers all over the state. I had been cutting my own hair because every hairstylist I went to ended up flat ironing my hair. Wrobyn understood and helped me to trust her. She did an awesome job on my hair and showed me how to use the products and style my hair, even how to dry it with a cotton shirt instead of a towel. My head doesn't itch anymore and my hair is healthier than it has ever been! I love her and will only be going to her salon from now on!

Wrobyn is just plain awesome. She did a great job of cutting my hair to bring back the curl I thought was lost. She doesn't push any products on you or make you feel obligated to get more done to your hair than you want, but I have to say that Mop Top products are the best thing for your hair. The Palms is a SULFATE FREE salon also. I'll tell you that in 1 month my hair is healthier than it's been since I was about 10 years old. You're not gonna find a better salon anywhere in Oklahoma. Oh yeah, her other stylists are awesome too.

For the first time I didn't leave a salon feeling like I had weird hair that just needed the right flat-iron. Wrobyn's not a curly, but has seen the trials of curly life through her two curly daughters, and their hair is absolutely to die for. In the hour and fifteen minutes she spent with me, she didn't once say, "Well, you could straighten it." She didn't suggest that I relax it, or do anything to it but take care of the curls I was born with. I didn't have to explain or defend my no-poo-ing and product choices. She just listened, gave lots of great advice, and erred on the side of caution with the length, which my slow-growing hair and I appreciated. (She also offered a free adjustment if I decide I want to go shorter.) I used to have a giant, frizzy, Diana-Ross-after-a-hurricane thing, and now I have a normal volume of defined-curly hair. It has movement and obeys the laws of gravity, and I really like the Mop Top products Wrobyn suggested. I used to hate my hair. I knew something was wrong, but not what exactly, or how to fix it, and now I have ideas and tools and hair I love and someone I trust to cut it WELL. I'm 29, and have worn my hair in a bun every single day for fifteen years. I'm now wearing it down ALL the time (in summer!) and shopping for all sorts of new clips and styles. I hadn't had a cut in over six years; I was afraid to get another bad one, but finding someone so good and only a half-hour drive from me is such a relief. No more long, scraggly, uneven, neglected split ends, and no more triangle-head.

My hair is curly, wavy and poofy. Growing up with 3 brothers I got all the mean jokes. I started straightening my hair when I was in middle school and would wear it up everyday. I am 22 now and I went to Palm salon. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but when I left I was soo happy with my hair it looks so much better!! I love my hair now. Eveyone who has seen my hair including my brothers really like it. Emily showed me how to do it myself and she made it really easy. If you go you should ask for Emily she has curly hair and she is really nice.

I drove up from Lawton, where I'm currently working. As a Curlie, I've been through the usual nightmares... I travel, lots, so my hair has to endure changes from 0% humidity or 96% within a couple of months. I felt heard. I felt validated. I got a wonderful cut that makes the most of my features. I was still so UP when I got home, this was at 10:30 pm, I called my curly sister to share all of the things Wrobyn taught me! If you're a Curlie and get a chance, the salon is lovely and the experience worth the 1.5 hour drive it took me to get there... sigh...

I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I found this salon. It's the first time I'd ever gone for a haircut where they didn't try to flat iron or blow fry my hair straight. The initial consultation is definitely worth the money and I learned how to take care of my waves. I used to hate the way my hair looked. Now I love wearing it wavy and I don't bother trying to straighten my hair anymore. As long as I'm stationed in Oklahoma, I won't go anywhere else.

After reading the post about Wrobyn at the Palm Salon I knew that I had to go to her for my next haircut, and I am so glad that I did! She did a fantastic job! I completely agree with the previous posts and HIGHLY recommend Wrobyn. She listened, asked the right questions, and gave great advise. I learned how to use clips while my hair is air drying and love the differnece it made in giving my curls an added lift. The cut she gave me was great. I will be going back for a long time! The 45 minute drive was well worth it.

I made an appointment with Wrobyn after reading the reviews on this website, and I was not disappointed. Wrobyn is fantastic--I live in Edmond, but the 45 minute drive is definitely worth it. Wrobyn says that 75% of her customers have curly hair, and she really knows what she's doing when she cuts it. She also showed me a new way to style it with clips that worked so well with my hair. Most importantly, I felt like I didn't have to apologize or feel embarrassed about having curly hair, as I've felt so often at other (even the highest-end in the area) salons. She’s also headed a lot of workshops for curly haired people—talking to her about curly hair is like going to a therapist! This is the best experience I've ever had at a hair salon, bar none. I will be back!

Wrobyn is amazing! For the first time ever, I left a salon with the exact haircut I wanted and with CURLY hair and not blow-dryed, flat-ironed hair. Wrobyn really listened to what I wanted and did a fantastic job. You couldn't go wrong by having her cut your hair. Plus, when she was done she offered to let me stop by later after it had dried naturally and let her "fix" anything that I may have wanted changed. She only trims a little at a time rather than just lopping it all off in leaps and bounds. She does follow the Curly Girl book, and for the first time I didn't leave a salon feeling like I had weird hair that just needed the right flat-iron. She does carry MopTop and I really liked the way it smelled and felt on my hair. Going to Wrobyn was the best thing I have ever done for my hair and the way I feel about it.

I know there is already a posting about this salon but I had to put up my own. I'm so excited to finally feel good about a hair!!!!!!! She took the time to look at it and talk to me about it. She only cut enough off to help it grow out the way I want it. She also recommended this product called MopTop and it's also fantastic. It worked great on my frizz and it's got GOOD stuff for your hair. You have to try this stuff. Go to http://www.moptophair.com/index.shtml if you don't live anywhere near the salon. If you live near it you can go there to buy it.

And to top it all off both of her daughters have naturally curly hair so she REALLY understands curly hair! Her goal is for you to leave the salon loving your hair!
