- I went to see Amanda by recommendation of a friend with naturally thin, wavy hair. After her appointment with Amanda, my friend came back with amazing body and thick-looking hair. The John Martin Salon does what they call a 'torque' haircut. This technique involves twisting hair in approx. 1" sections, then the stylist cuts small chunks into it with curved-blade scissors. It encourages natural waves and curls, and results in amazing volume. I have been looking for a great volumising cut for years, and I've finally found my home salon. It technically thinned out my hair, but it's never been bigger (in a good way!).
