I've been reading your recs

I read The Last Child, by John Hart - it was really good! It was a little sad, and not the ending I was expecting, but it was a good book. I've read a lot of mysteries, and it's nice when the ending is not what I was expecting. I've read so much of some mystery authors that they hold no surprise for me anymore.

I also read Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson (mentioned in the Books that Changed Your Life thread), and while I have not be a high school freshmen in awhile, it certainly left an impression. If I ever have kids, I think I'll have them read it.

I wanted to read Nightwanderer, by Marianne Fredriksson (also mentioned in Books that Changed Your Life thread), but it was not available at my library - not even to put on hold! so instead I read her book called Two Women, and liked it - it was sometimes painfully obvious that I was reading a translation (I hope the original Swedish dialogue flows better) but I still liked the book.
