Its funny that you would post those pics kikisk. My mother had huge fro when I was born. I remember that she would braid it every night and tie it up before she went to bed. I was talking to her about maintaining that big perfect poof and she told me that a stylist use to run a texturizer through it for a couple of minutes. I was amazed!

As for hair getting straighter on touch up, this is what is likely to happen to you when you get a retouch and the chemicals are being rinsed over the hair that has already been processed. I highly recommend that you coat your previously processed hair with conditioner/vaseline/grease/base before processing your roots to prevent the hair from getting straighter over time and to keep it as healthy as possible. It's a big part of keeping processed hair healthy.
