My first real job was as an assistant vision therapist at the same clinic where my mom was the receptionist - fancy job title for mostly data entry work.
After that, I got a job doing admin assistant work for a construction company, and I had that job for almost two years - until I went to college.
I think office work experience is especially good for college, but any kind of customer service will be good experience for the rest of your life.
