That is the fault of the OB's, not the women. The OB's are the ones who are required by law to obtain

and i'm sorry you don't realize how insensitive it can come off. as a mother i personally can't imagine hearing about a complication, a scare, or a woman not having the birth she wanted and still having an "i told you so" attitude. its the attitude that is bothersome, because you can educate women about risks of interventions without having that attitude.
I agree w/subbrock. There was a thread here a while back were a poster had a scheduled induction and wanted support. She got a lot of flack for it and I ended up PMing her about my 2 inductions where nothing went wrong and I was happy with both of them. It meant a lot to her that I wasn't judgemental and could offer support. I was educated with both of them and made the decision that was best for us. If I had said that in the thread I, too, would have been harped on for advocating a system that is broken. I didn't need my great birthing experiences ruined by women who would tell me I did it wrong.
If someone can't handle opposing views in a debate, maybe they ought not use their own birth experiences as an example when discussing birth practices in general. If something is so personal to you...maybe keep it personal.
