Actually it is all my hair. After cornrowing my hair to the sides I twisted the loose ends and loosely tucked and pinned with Goody pins to make it look like more than it is. I enclosed a pic of my shrunken hair.
I already exhausted Utube and other free online resources before going to someone. I basically called around to the braiding shops in the area and found the cheapest one that was willing to teach me. I found that the people doing braids out of their home were much cheaper. It took 2 sessions for me to learn the basic techniques of cornrowing. The first 1hr session($30) she had me practice on my hair and loaned me her dummy($20 that was returned when the dummy was returned) to practice the techniques for the week. On the 2nd 1hr session($30) I practiced on my hair while she watched and gave me pointers. At that time I didnt wish to spend any more money so I went to Sally's using my 20% off coupon and bought a manikin head (Mesha for $25). I practiced on Mesha during the week and myself on the weekends for about 2weeks before I dared wear cornrows to work
