Yes! Me too! I had extremely short hair for so long that I had no idea it was wavy/curly until I started growing it out in 2007. In fact, when I'd get my monthly hair cut the stylist would ask if I have curly hair because I'd get a lot of volume. I'd always reply that I have straight hair and she'd be surprised.

When I was a kid, I don't remember my hair having much of any texture at all.
