Don't know how inexpensive this is or if you are near a health food store, but I have found that rubbing a good size glob of shea butter in my hair before condition- washing helps a lot. Often I will use a pea-size glob of shea as a leave-in (in addition to whatever else I am using). I think this makes a big difference, at least for me.
