My girl insisted on trims every 5 weeks when I colored & it would never get past my shoulders. She is fighting me all the way but I have not let her cut it the last 4 times & it has grown almost to the middle of my back & it looks fabulous. I did let her cut some long layers & trim them a little. But if your hair looks healthy don't cut it. I asked this same question yesterday & the general concensise I got was about every 6 months.
