When it hits 20F for a high, I pull out the diffuser on the rare days I wash in the a.m. instead of at night. I have a regular bowl diffuser & an ionic dryer (a cheapie).
I have VERY frizz prone hair, & the key for me is to use low heat, high speed & move the diffuser no more than 3 times. I accordion about 1/3 of my hair up into the bowl as much as I can fit (I'm standing upright) & hold it there for about 3 min, then do the other 2 sections.
10 min is about all I can stand of the noise & whole blowdrying process. My hair is about 1/2 dry by then, enough for me to head out. If I don't touch it after this point, it usually dries pretty well.
