Cailin, I think so. I also suggest having special membrane underwear (you can find it in ski sportswear departments), it drains micro amounts of water out and thus prevents your body cooling. Don't wear cotton or wool underneath! It does exactly the opposite, it keeps water inside. That's my skier experience I guess the principle is the same - you will have alot of motion outdoors in cold weather. HTH
