How many clarifying treatments does it take to get cones out of hair?
Hi. Sorry if this is somewhere obvious.
I understand about sulfates & (most) silicones--how I should stop using them.
The supposedly curl-friendly salon I went to gave me some products that I have been using for several weeks. I belatedly read the labels, & both contain dimethicone. And truthfully, even before that, I'm not sure I properly removed any buildup from my hair.
I have two questions:
1) Is removing buildup a one-step process (with the right clarifying product), or do I need to use that product multiple times to be sure my hair is free of the dimethicone?
2) I hate to buy a whole new bottle of shampoo if I only need one application. Do you think the baking soda/conditioner clarifying would work well enough? I also have Burt's Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo, but I'm not sure it contains the proper form of betaine--it just has plain old "betaine," which doesn' seem to be the form that I've seen listed as good on dimethicones.
