Atkins is good for quick weight loss if you follow the program to a T. When I was on it, I lost 4 lbs. in one week and I didn't even exercise. The first phase is difficult but once you get through it the results are amazing and you feel great! Good luck!
That's how I lost the majority of my weight.. but I stayed in the first phase for about 3 months. lol Not healthy at all, but it got the job done. That was back in 2002 or so.
