I've been called "Wild Child" when my hair was down. I have 3c hair with 4a around the edges and it's big and long. I haven't had many rude comments. I live in an area where 95% of the black, female, population has weave/perm/braids. When I wear my hair down, people just stare at it like they've never seen anything like it before.

There are more people who aren't black with long curly hair, but straight/light waves are still considered "the norm" where I live.
