I'm on my second batch of this stuff. LOVE IT!!! Love it better than flax seed gel and it's so much easier. I could only find frozen so have no idea how fresh compares. The first time I used 8 pieces in 2 cups of water. I boiled it for 20 minutes and it thickened up nicely. The second time I used only 4 pieces in 1 cup of water but had to add more water 1/2 way through. It didn't thicken up but is still usable. I'll go back to 8 pieces next time.

Kathymac, good to know about using gelatin as a thickener. I've not found marshmallow root anywhere the Minneapolis area so I'll get some gelatin this weekend and use that.
