I guess sometimes ppl feel the need to speak up about not everyone on this board is CG, and that is okay. As a frequent lurker, when seeing a thread where someone is asking for hair care advice, most of the time the first thing the respondents will say is "you should go CG" or "the problem is probably your sulfate shampoo/silicones", when that may or may not be true. So I can understand the thoughts of the OP. There are way more threads about going CG on here than not, and I'm sure some people feel like they have to defend their choice or apologize for going against the majority (if you can call it that).
However, going CG doesn't have to take too much time or more money than not going CG--I mean whether your shampoo has sulfates in it or not, you still need to do your research and experiment to make sure the cleansing formulation doesn't dry your hair out. Sulfates aren't the only part of shampoo that can potentially wreck your hair. Sometimes they can just be formulated poorly or incongruent with how you want your hair to feel after cleansing. Same train of thought in regards to silicones, humectants, proteins, and every other ingredient that some folks feel the need to nick-pick over. It all goes back to formulation; one ingredient does not make or break a product.
