As a policy analyst, I spend all darn day being CRITICAL. I get what you guys are saying. One hand, yes, there are some less than pc undertones a race, class, and gender analyst would devour - stuff we'd expect from mass media. On the other hand, it provides a smidgen of insight into a growing business trend created for and dominated by women and people of color - stuff mass media typically overlooks.
Hmmm....I wonder what Marcia thinks.
Makes me want to research how other curly hair moguls are being written about and described in mass media and do a comparison study.....Damn! You see, now I'm distracted...I hate being a nerd!
