Yup. Moreso when I was in grade school b/c my hair was long and thick/dense. I too thought it was strange that they insisted I was hispanic or asian. I always took it as "wow black folks can't have the credit of having beautiful hair without having another ethnicity being the reason for the beauty."

A hispanic guy once told me that he did not like the term "mixed" for humans since it's used for breeds of dogs. I completely agree with him and I think the appropriate question would be, "What is your ethnicity."
