I do mini-trims as well. I've been growing my hair out for sometime now and it's almost to my shoulders.

I do have some straighter parts underneath near my neck which like to grow the fastest.

I hadn't cut it in a looooong time and I noticed it getting a little thin near the bottom. I only cut a little at a time so I don't take off more then intended. I finished trimming this morning before I showered. It's definitely looking a lot neater today.
