Im currently transitioning from a texturizer but I got mine professionally done by someone who applies texturizers at least 10 times a day. My hair never broke off and it is a lot easier to comb. I'm going natural because i havent seen my natural hair in 8 years and I'm curious.
From what I've heard, texturizing yourself, or at some random salon where they don't know protein from moisture is a BAD idea. If you are set on it, make sure you, or the person applying knows EXACTLY what they are doing. Your hair texture should NOT drastically change not should you experience breakage. Please note that you will no longer be natural as you will be putting chemicals on your hair.
I attached some pictures of my hair.
