the difference between herbal teas and herbal extracts is the former is usually less potent as they are extracted in either grain alcohol or glycol, which both have stronger extraction powers than water alone. Herbal extracts are usually very concentrated and can be powdered or liquid. Typically, herbal extracts are extracted in water+glycol--including glycerine, or water+alcohol and a lot of the herb is used to make 1 part of extract (e.g., 5parts of herb used to make 1 part of extract denoted as 5:1)

Extracts last longer than teas (usually you will use infusions right after you make them).
