I will say this: don't underestimate the amount of time, money, and concerted scientific efforts being placed into the development of and understanding of hair care/cosmetic/personal care science. It is a longstanding, interdisciplinary field that is growing by leaps and bounds. However, it is wise to be critical of the source from which you are receiving information. Always view facts in light of your own experience as well.
