I tried bananas after seeing it on Dr. Oz as one of the best hair treatments and I fell in love. It is now the only dc I use because nothing else compares. I mix it with honey and oil. Leave it in for about 30 minutes and rinse it out. The only time I've had a problem rinsing it out is when I bought whole bananas and didn't puree them well enough which is my fault. Now I buy banana baby food so it's not an issues. Comes out easily.
It can be messy to apply. And I rinse in in the kitchen sink so I don't have a bunch of banana on the bottom of my tub. Whenever you use food to dc I don't recommend doing your initial rinse with really hot water especially if you use eggs..
