Thanks Kathymack for your insight. I am thankful that there are ladies on here who have wisdom (and have been on this journey for longer). My hair could very well be a higher porosity, I just didn't have any idea..other than the floating strand test that I did at home.

Floating strand is notoriously unreliable. You're better off running your fingers up and down the hair shaft. Low porosity hair will feel smooth in both directions. If you feel "bumps," it means your hair is porous.
