Question about swaddling
Before my son was born, I watched some videos and noticed how swaddling helps comfort a baby and keep them calm. I decided I was going to swaddle my son when he was born. He was swaddled in the hospital and I continued to do so when I got him home. For the last 2 weeks, he seems grumpy when I do it. Although he does calm down and sleep longer in it, now he is starting to break free from it. Since it bothers him, I am trying to get him to comfort himself and sleep without swaddling. I'm not sure what to do because he sleeps less without the swaddling and he won't soothe himself as fast, but he just seems to hate being swaddled so much now and I don't want to do it much longer.
I guess what I am asking is how do I "wean" him off swaddling and what suggestions do you have for me making him more comfortable so he can soothe himself better.
Thanks in advance.
