Mine never liked to be swaddled. They were also big strong kids who wanted their arms free and did not want to be restricted.

I agree about back sleeping - it sucks. I was more fanatical about it with #1 (naturally.) #2 has
always been exceptionally mobile and was rolling himself onto his tummy to sleep by himself within a few weeks, so I just let him. He was a great sleeper, especially in the earlier days (lately, not great due to teething unfortunately.) #2 does like a blanket on his head when he goes to sleep, for some reason, but not a full swaddle.
