I second Nynaeve and Wild~Hair. I have a clone of the plastic Melitta coffee maker. It makes perfect coffee for me, and I'm a coffee snob. Coffee is my favorite food in the whole world, and I treat myself to specialty coffee. The little coffee maker works like a charm.
Buy the filters in any grocery store, scoop coffee in, pour in boiling water and voila! Oren's sells the clone or just get the Melitta. No fuss, no muss, no bother.
