I have one of the stove top espresso makers that I use with fresh-ground beans. I prefer it to the french press (mostly becuase it is easier to clean). The 3 cup is the perfect size for 12 oz of latte (about 6 oz coffee and 6 oz milk)

The tricks to this is a) start with hot (boiling water) in the pot before putting it on the stove and b) don't overcook it
