Thank you, I usually use my coconut conditioner as a leave in as well as a cowash. After I get out of the shower I scrunch my soaking hair in an old t-shirt to get some of the water out. Then I scrunch in a quarter size amount of LA looks sport gel, then another quarter size amount, then I flip up and finger massage my mousse into my roots, (this just helps me with volume) and then I plop for about 30 minutes. After plopping I try to let it air dry before I diffuse it, but usually don't have enough time before I leave for school to do that so I diffuse upside down and then scrunch out the crunch! And that's it! So I guess the gel is what leaves my hair shiny, but it could be the condish too. HTH!
Also, I am half Mexican and half white
I have some native american in my blood as well.
Your hair looks great short! I couldn't really pull off the short look cuz I felt like my hair was too thin, and plus, I just like my hair long. So I'm also in the process of growing it out. I'm in the 2012 waist length challenge forum and hopefully will get it there by December! You would look great with either long or short I'm sure, but like I said, I admire that you can pull off the short look!
First, I wanted to tell you how beautiful your hair is in that first picture! I love it! Second, I recently read that the reason our natural hair looks frizzy and fuzzy and poofy and messy when air drying with no products (basically going completely natural) is because of the cones we have been using. Cones make your hair shiny and beautiful, but they also damage it so you can't stop using the product; you rely on cones to make your hair beautiful, even though they are the very things that are making it ugly! So once you get into the CG routine your hair should recover from the cones and go back to a beautiful natural state. Although this probably won't eliminate the frizz completely, it should help. HTH!
