I did a little bit of ingredient research, and the second or third ingredient listed on the Aveda conditioner is dimethicone, which makes the product technically non-CG friendly. The L'Oreal cleansing conditioner has mild sufactants, but not any that are recommended for removing dimethicone. This could lead to build up on your hair.

It does sound like you used a lot of product in your hair, but aren't necessarily able to get it all out. If you like the Aveda conditioner, I would suggest finding a stronger cleanser. There are sulfate-free options to removing silicones- cocamidopropyl betaine is a very common non-sulfate surfactant that can remove dimethicone from the hair.
