A wide tooth shower comb seemed to work for for me on my 3a/b hair. I rinse my hair in the shower and start gently detangling and then wash with conditioner and comb it through to detangle. My hair was waaay easier to detangle afterwards when i was styling my hair. I also kept some conditoner (a tiny bit) in the length of my hair. Its really hard to detangle my hair if it dries even a little bit and using the shower comb first with conditioner really made it alot easier.
