A packing tip - put all your hair stuff (and anything else that has the potential to spill) in plastic zipper bags. Can't tell you how many times this has kept me from having gunk all over my clothes.
Travel bottles are great - if you gauge how much product(s) you use each day, you can probably pack the right amounts in those smaller bottles and save a of of space. Always overestimate.
BTW, you're going from humid South to less humid North (unless it's July - but even then there's a difference). Be prepared for the humidity reduction. More hold will make you happier in lower humidity.
