I was in PT for a year after I broke my ankle and had reconstructive surgery on it...2-3 times per week. I needed to learn to walk again.

Personally, I found most physical therapists I encountered to be lazy and not take their job very seriously. They seemed to always be trying to hide when I needed them. Most gains were made by me without their help. Maybe it was just the place I went. I was supposed to attend for another year, but I dropped out because I didn't feel they were helping me anymore.

I'm not saying don't go. I'm saying, just watch them. If you aren't getting what you need, look for someplace else. Even co-pays that seem reasonable can add up. I was paying a $20 co-pay...2-3 times per week, 4 weeks per month...$160-$240/month. Not cheap.
