No as far as curl memory from sets. If your curls are not reverting when washed they are damaged. I have seen the heat training on YT and to me it looks a Hot Mess but to each his own.
I do think you can "train" your hair as far as better moisture retention. I found I dont have nearly as many dryness issues once I found a routine that works for me. Mahogany Curls said she built up her moisture with frequent cowashing.
