My grandfather passed away this morning. I've been feeling kind of sad all day. So this evening as we were driving home, I started getting teary. My husband asked, "Why are you sad?" I said, "My grandpa died." [which of course he knew because we'd been talking about it all day]. He said, "Well, was there something that triggered you being sad?"
WTF kind of question is that????? Why would you ask someone who had a death in the family if something "triggered" them being sad?? Did he think he was being helpful or concerned? He wasn't. Well, now I'm not feeling as sad about my grandpa, just peeved at my husband, so I guess he did help me not feel sad.
