natural products for poofy 3a/2c hair
So, I have a hair care routine that's been working for me for about three years, where I use the Garnier Fructics hair putty on my 2C/3A curls. My hair is very poufy but not particularly thick (if i flat iron it it looks downright thin, but with no product I have 80's hair). Unless I over do it or vastly underestimate the amount humidity outside I typically get a nice finish that's glossy with no frizz, but not crunchy.
However, the last couple of times I've gotten my hair cut or styled, the stylists have been really surprised that the cheap stuff is working for me and style my hair after the cut with super expensive natural products that just don't control the frizz at all. The cuts were fantastic, so these guys clearly knew what they were doing in terms of structure, but they had no idea how tame my frizz.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with the natural products not working, or with stylists who otherwise get curly hair not getting the frizz thing? Is the "oh god, how could you?" stuff just a put-on to get me to buy their expensive stuff, or am I missing something?
