I've been talked about and made fun of so much about other parts of my appearance that when I went natural and a complete stranger yelled on the bus that I had nappy hair, I didn't care. Black folk hair is naturally nappy.......who doesn't know that? Little black girls have been tricked into thinking their natural hair can't be beautiful for so long, when a comment is made about it hurts us. We both know Dad wasn't trying to be mean. Maybe he doesn't understand why you want your natural curls...... maybe he likes straight hair bcuz he's accustomed to it.
