I reckon its the old problem of having a competent stylist who knows curls, preferably your curls if possible. I dont know about you girls, but in my experience, you can ask for long layers, angled layers, or even a simple trim and tidy up, but once you're sat in that chair with the apron round your shoulders, you are at the "stylists" mercy and they will do what they think.
I have yet to have a good haircut at a salon, ever.
